Surprised?Yeah I'm a bit late getting into this but, better late than never. These guys are easily one of the major factors why Smash 4 is hands down the best in the series. I mean outside of the gameplay reaching a fine line between Melee and Brawl, its large and (mostly) unique roster was something else ... and obviously these guys, gaming's biggest faces, got to beat the crap out of each other. ;D
... and that's more or less all I have to say on the subject. ((goes back to play some more Smash))

He actually is seeing as how unique his gameplay is of jump and shoot and absorb other powers. That's what made him high caliber as the other in the image

I feel like Bayonetta really shouldn't be added, mostly because she's pretty much a Nintendo character at this point due to Nintendo doing so much more with her than Sega ever has and adding her to this would defeat the theme that this pic is trying to do.
1. Nintendo was the one to fund Bayonetta 2, making the game a Nintendo published game in all regions. Β They even republished the original game with many fun extras.
2. They used Bayonetta as one of their reps for Women's History Month alongside Samus, Rosalina, Tetra, Lucina, Toadette, and Bombette. Β I feel like they wouldn't have been able to use her for this if she wasn't theirs now.
3. Her Bayonetta 2 design, from the Nintendo published game, is used as her default in SSB4 instead of her Bayonetta design, from the original Sega published game.
Of course, we won't know exactly who officially owns Bayonetta until her Amiibo comes out later this year.

you have a point there but, she's still heavily considered to be a 3rd Party character so I think it wouldn't hurt to include her in this image when the time is right. I don't feel she's quite on the same level as Shulk or Kirby who are so clearly 2nd Party Characters owned by Nintendo.
