Something I enjoyed about this is how you created a bit of a frame for his face with the black background. It would have been very different if you just left the area around his face and hat white. It's like he's peeking from the shadows glaring thru someone. You're very efficient with your hatching work. I see different textures just with the slight differences in one part of the hatching compared with the other.
