so this was supposed to just be a testy thingy of some new graphite sticks I have, but then she started looking like jennifer connelly (I wish I would randomly start looking like jennifer connelly someday), and then one thing led to another and all the sudden it turned into some serious Labyrinth fanart.cause lets face it; Jim Henson + Brian Froud + David Bowie (way more glitterified than he ever was as Ziggy Stardust) = the most awesome movie ever.
my scanner is a suckmunch btw, so pretend this is all smooth and pretty like it is in real life.

I alternate between wanting to draw them like this and wanting to draw them silly. I like a slightly evil GK though, or maybe not 'evil' - manipulative, cunning, etc. etc.

I am glad that effect worked out, in the past I've been really wary of using huge amounts of dark in my pictures, so it was kind of an experiment for me. Creepy while being sexy at the same time was exactly what I was going for.

I love Sarah's wavy hair, and the GK in the shadows. The darker tones in the picture are different from many Labyrinth pictures that I've seen, and I really like that

Thanks! I was definately going for that sort of mysterious, dark romanticism type thing. I like the darker, more psychoanalytic interpretations of the film that I have read (whatever, I totally love the fluffy bunnies and faires versions too), and wanted to do a sort of grown-up Sarah pic.
