Description Meme by

I've been wanting to do this for a while and I picked four characters that I know were inspired by several characters.

Note: Phantasm was actually more inspired by real life serial killers and psychology notes on sociopaths in terms of personality but there were too many to name.

So much perfection, where to start?

I love the trifecta of film slashers in Phantasm's background, though I always found Leatherface more cuddly than scary... don't know what that says about me but I roll with it. I was just thinking of Phantasm since 2010 Freddy was on my screen doing his thing not half an hour ago! Brr he's a scary fucker. They honestly couldn't have picked a better actor to take up the knife-glove.

Sportsmaster... that's about right. Wonder if he has a weakness for Twinkies.

Black Mask's short fuse and sharp mind summed up quite nicely! I could totally see his last moments (if he dies at any point in your stories) being just like Tony Montana.

Mephisto's the one I'd love to take out for drinks. So much charisma and charm in one alicorn!

I heard similar reviews that don't cast Leatherface so much as cuddly but as sympathetic in a way since many have pointed out that Leatherface, at least the original, is mentally retarded and is being treated like a dog by an abusive family and there may have been a chance for him. I really put Jason and Leatherface's actions into Phantasm's personality, though many have classified them as anti-social and some even labeled Jason as a sociopath. Most of Phantasm's personality came from 2010 Freddy as well as Heath Ledger's Joker (How some men just want to watch the World burn) and while I never thought the 2010 NOES was that great, I agree that Jackie Earle Haley was the best actor to carry the torch of Freddy Krueger, as well as the best part of the movie, and I hope he gets a sequel so that they can showcase his skill. It's what inspired my version of Phantasm.

I actually got the idea for Sportsmaster's personality from seeing appearances from Ted Nugent since while Ted's probably the craziest right-wing nut job, he tells his opinion in the most over the top, cartoonish way that it's hard not to laugh. It was only after re-watching Zombieland and South Park that I decided to add more.

Kite-Stallion: Does Sportsmaster have a weakness for Twinkies?!
*Sportsmaster and Kite-Stallion are in Sugarcube Corner and starts smashing the cabinets with a sledgehammer*
Sportsmaster: WHERE ARE THE FUCKING, GODDAMN TWINKIES?!?
Kite-Stallion: Damn it, Crusher, we're supposed to make sure that Carrot Cake douchebag has Penguin's money. Smashing his fucking cabinets isn't helping.
Sportsmaster: I HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR!!!
Kite-Stallion: Then here...
*Holds up a cupcake*
Kite-Stallion: Have a cupcake.
Sportsmaster: I DON'T WANT NO GODDAMN CUPCAKE, YOU YELLOW WEARING MAMA'S BOY! I NEED SPONGY, YELLOW, DELICIOUSNESS!
*Starts smashing the glass container will all the cakes*
Sportsmaster: I! NEED! TWINKIES!!!
*SQUEAK*
*They turn to see the Cake Twins sitting on high chairs with Pumpkin Cake holding her rubber chicken in her mouth*
Sportsmaster: Don't you eyeball me, you little mutants. I can be your step-daddy in ten minutes.
Kite-Stallion: Yeah. Then you'd have a reason to cry.

I don't have any immediate plans to kill Black Mask but going out Tony Montana style would be the perfect fit for him.

I'm glad you would want to take Mephisto out for drinks because I always say that the perfect devil is the one who makes you feel easy with his charm and who you want to hang out with while making you forget that he wants your soul, not the one that makes you run in fear the first time you see him and tries to force you to give your soul. And I can totally see Mephisto singing "Poor Unfortunate Souls". Also, it's a shame that this meme only has three boxes because Beetlejuice (at least the movie version) was also an inspiration for Mephisto.

Mephisto: Glad to know you have good taste, little lady. By the way, is there anything I can get for you... for a price. And if not, I'm always looking for my boys to settle down with a young lady. They're young but... this whole 'raping, burning, and pillaging' thing can get really tiring. Also, I've got baby pictures.

And...

*The Four Horses of the Apocalypse are riding on their motorcycles towards their destination*
Death: WE WILL BURN OLYMPUS TO THE GROUND!
War: WE WILL HANG THE HEADS OF OUR MASTER'S ENEMIES ON OUR WALLS!
Famine: WE WILL-
Mephisto: BOYS!!!
*They stop and turn around on their bikes to see Mephisto pointing behind him*
Mephisto: Olympus would be that way.
*They look at each other like a bunch of teenagers who have done something stupid*
Apocalypse Horses: Um... Um...
Pestilence: Zeus!
*They spin their bikes around and race towards Olympus*
Apocalypse Horses: ZEUS!
Mephisto: Kids...

I saw a lot of that in TCSM too. Both the original and the remake.

I actually got the NOES remake on iTunes (Halloween sale) and I have to say it grew on me. While the original and its sequels were fantastic, none of them actually scared me. The new one made my skin crawl! If I met old Freddy in a dream it'd be like wow sweet, horror celebrity geekout! If I met new Freddy... I would likely piss myself. It would be cool to see where they'd take it if they made a sequel.

Well, someone get the man a Twinkie before he really loses it! I sorta feel for him. I have low blood sugar myself and boy does it get hard not to turn into a rampaging hellbeast when the effects kick in! I'm better at containing it than our friend here though... and I'm not as picky. I don't care if all there is to eat is Tums. JUST GIMME.

Nice of you to offer, Mephisto, but raping is a dealbreaker. A little burning and rampaging is fine as long as it's not in the house!

Ha!

Mephisto: I knew I should have left that part out about my kids. Oh, well. Here, let me show you some baby pictures of my boys.
*Flips to a picture of Hera holding Baby Pestilence while she's covered in a green slime*
Mephisto: This is when I brought the boys to Olympus after they were born. Hey, they said I was banned. They never said I couldn't come back... or rule Tartarus. Anyways, this is Pestilence when he puked all over Hera, that hag. Such a cute boy.
*Turns to a picture of Aphrodite, with her hair burned off and covered in ash, holding a Baby War*
Mephisto: Here's War when he set Aphrodite's head on fire. Such a good boy.
*Flips to a photo of Baby Death playing patty-cake with Persephone*
Mephisto: Persephone was visiting on the same day and she played with the boys. My boys love her and Hades.
*Flips to a picture of Baby Death biting Athena's nose as *
Mephisto: And then playing Got your nose with Athena.
*Flips to a picture of Dionysus hog-tied over a fire-pit with an apple in his mouth while Baby Famine tries to spin him around by flapping his wings.*
Mephisto: Aw, this is when Famine tried to make lunch for his brothers. I even have a video.
*Turns on a TV that shows Baby Famine tries to spin Dionysus over the flame while his brothers are holding knives and forks and wearing bibs*
Baby Apocalypse Ponies: Roasted piggy! Roasted piggy! Roasted piggy!
*Someone opens the door behind them*
Baby Famine: We're making lunch!
Baby Apocalypse Ponies: ROASTED PIGGY!!!
*Mephisto flips to a picture of Leto putting the Baby Apocalypse Ponies in a large crib*
Mephisto: Aw, I remember this. This is when Leto put the boys down for a nap after a long day of torturing- I mean, playing with their aunts, uncles, and cousins.
*Flashback*
*Leto is holding the Four Baby Apocalypse Ponies along with a book on her lap*
Leto: And Mephisto dragged all the sinners and his enemies to the fiery bowels of Hell...
*She puts them in the crib and tucks them in*
Leto: Where his four sons burned their flesh and tortured them for all eternity. The End.
*The Four Baby Apocalypse Ponies yawn and suck their thumbs as they fall asleep*
Mephisto: That's adorable.
*Turns around to face Hera*
Mephisto: Why can't you be more like Leto?

I'm definitely trying out this meme in the future for Chalice and Roxy.

Omfg, two Al Pacino characters listed here! Sorry, I just love him so much.

And who were some other real-life serial killers that influenced the character development of Phantasm, besides Ed Gein?

Mephisto: Please. Pacino's good but he wishes he had a tenth of the talent that James Woods has.

Like I said, there were several real-life serial killers that inspired  Phantasm that I can't name them off the top of my head. Jeffrey Dahmer (since I can imagine Elliot's trial being like Dahmer's) and Ted Bundy to name two but I think the one that inspired him the most is the Zodiac Killer since like the Zodiac, Phantasm is killing people/ponies to become infamous and remembered and likes to brag about his crimes. There were similar serial killers who murdered for attention but I'd have to look over some documentaries to make sure.

I also forgot to mention that Heath Ledger's Joker was a big inspiration on the character development of Phantasm.

James Woods happens to be on my extended list of men I adore, Mephisto.

Ah, how interesting! I really like how you used real-life serial killers as an influence for Elliot's character development, because it makes him feel more real. Like Jeffery Dahmer and Ed Gein, did Phantasm ever consume or eat parts of his victims? Or would Phantasm not go to cannibalism?

I'm not sure if cannibalism is in Phantasm's background because I don't know how to fit it into his profile but if he did, he would have to blend the parts and drink it since he can't eat solid food.
