What a start into 2015.
This shot was taken on the very first morning of the year on my recent trip with NicolasAlexanderOtto
Amazing conditions at Kochel lake in Bavaria, Germany. These old fishermen’s barns really are a great scene, especially in those foggy conditions.

Very nice use of gradient and perspective. Immediately, that strong transition between the dark blue and light blue is very captivating; the water and sky almost appear as one in a soft, serene kind of way.
The actual horizon line being extremely blurred, and, as mentioned before, seeming to be combined with the water conveys this really heavenly, peaceful atmosphere. The patch of brighter light is very cleansing.
Paired with the blue colour consistent throughout the piece, a distinctly cold feel is conveyed, but, again, with that softness, quite the calming atmosphere takes over.
The perspective used for the houses, bridge and the nearby ice really creates a huge dynamic to the image; all the lines seem to be directed to the focal point at the intersection of the houses and the bridge.
The way the rest of the scene seems to emanate from that point is very effective in not only showcasing the individual structures but in binding the entire piece together.
