Description For this assignment, we had to design a hero, sidekick and anti-hero (they actually meant "badguy", so that's what I made), based on the style (and story, if you liked to) of an animation movie or series, but in a cartoony fashion.

I chose the 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' 3D movie/series.

Rogers back-story:
This is Roger, the "Anti-Hero" (badguy) of my assignment.
He works under contract as Assassin/SpecOps Agent for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, but is also given the freedom to pursue his personal vengeance on Jolly.
He is skilled with many weapons, but since his reconstruction, he primarily uses the custom double "RGR70" Twin-Linked Heavy Blaster Carbines built into his forearms.
However, since the nature of his design is modular, he can, apart from conventional weaponry, also be outfitted with other, specialized arms and legs.

He used to be partners with Jolly, forming one of the CIS's best SpecOps teams.
However, the CIS noticed that they were slowly becoming unstoppable and even as a treat and decided to get rid of them by betraying them and sending them into a trap.

However, things didn't work out as the CIS had planned: while Roger was mortally wounded, Jolly had survived and apart from an arm, was mostly intact.
Jolly promised her unconscious partner that she would get help and left.

Back at the base, she explained everything and a search party was sent out to retrieve Roger, while Jolly was patched up.

After finding out Roger had no idea what had happened to him, the CIS decided to grasp the opportunity and blame Jolly for what happened to him.
An officer told the dismembered and mutilated Roger that Jolly had defected and planned to murder him, claim the mission's bounty for herself and then disappear off the radar.

Roger was enraged by hearing this and explicitly told them that it could not have been Jolly.
Suddenly, the alarm sounded and the intercom squawked that a maintenance craft had been stolen from the hangar and that Jolly has been reported missing.

Roger couldn't believe his (completely molten-away) ears...
After staring at the ceiling for a few moments, he looked the officer in the eyes and said: "If I had a body, I'd hunt her down and kill her bare-handed!"
"That is already being arranged," the officer replied, "and you'll be be better than ever before..."

What they didn't tell him was that they'd also alter his brain to him virtually being their pet...
Now, more metal than flesh; more droid than man and outfitted with the latest weapons systems, Roger serves as the perfect Assassin/SpecOps agent for the CIS.

...and the chance that Jolly will ever be able to convince Roger of the truth; is a million times smaller than the change that he will find her... and erase her from existence...

(Be sure to also read the backstories of Jolly and Petey!
They might look the same, but that's just because they overlap at some points.
If you skip them, you won't get the complete story )

(I might edit his legs later on as I don't really like the way they look right now...
Deadlines and stress, you know how that goes )

Interesting how fleshy his chest is yet. I'd think they would have protected the vital bits a bit more, unless there's internal armor.

Hahaha, this little comic explains my point perfectly: [link]

I'll give you poorly designed helmets, but I argue against the armor being bad;

Only a few things stop sabers, fewer now with Lucas being a dick and saying Screw You to the EU with some of the stuff the Clone Wars cartoon.

To use an EU example in one of the Republic Commandos books one of the ARCs threw himself on a grenade and all it did was scorch his armor. Troopers are cannon fodder so their armor isn't as good as that, it's all about making the hit survivable. Their armor dissipates most of the force behind a bolt and deflects it away from vital areas. And figure the Republic/Imp supply core is a bit slow getting more advanced gear to the rank and file as weapons get stronger.

Well, it doesn't really matter for Roger's case, I'd still have drawn him bare-chested either way
Like I said: it aids to show more clearly he's not a droid, but a cyborg and underlines the fact of how bad-ass he is

Actually, the idea was more to better show he's in fact a cyborg + how badass he is

Kind of like saying "he doesn't NEED armour"
And in fact, he doesn't... just look at Storm Troopers: has their armour ever done anything apart from slowing them down so they could get shot faster?
Nope, blasters shoot through them like a hot knife through butter

Maybe I should make 2 extra drawings: 1 with added armour and 1 which shows him right after he was brought in after the incident

great. It's like the combination of several different star wars droids, icluding droidika and General Grevious features. you did an awesome job designing in the theme!!! love it !!!
