If we hang together, we won't hang alone. Yeah, bad depression joke there. I've thought about it, but I won't go through with it. I'm likely to miss. How the hell do you miss with a rope?! The same way you get run over by a stationary truck. Stupidity breeds great talent.I haven't been able to take my prescribed "brain pills" since January. They aren't medications, per se. They're amino acid protocols that cause my endocrine system to produce GABA, endorphines, seratonin, etc. in proper amounts, and control cortisol production. They worked pretty darn good. But they conflict with my blood pressure medication. Right now, controlling the blood pressure is more important.And I'm feeling it. Today is not a good day. But it's typical. My self-confidence has evaporated. I'm telling myself to finish the next two Aura novels now, while I still have the confidence to publish them.I'm used to depression. But the social anxiety is off the charts now. It's so bad, I can't even bring myself to ask a question in a Discord Skyrim modding group; a group that has the answer I need. And they're nice people, too. But ... Go outside? Are you nuts?! There are people out there! You ever clean the kitchen, and while you're loading the dishwasher, just start weeping for no reason? As if your best friend died? Welcome to my life right now.It's all chemical, too! That's the good part. I know what it is. That's the bad part. I can't do anything about it. Just ride it out. Just try to ride out the gnawing fear that it's permanent and I'm getting worse. Hell, it's a whiskey night.I go back to the doctor for a full physical in two weeks. Maybe, she'll take me off the blood pressure meds now. And maybe we can talk about the depression and anxiety and get something moving.But I didn't come here to talk about that. I came here to talk about ...MY GRANDMOTHERShe fell for Orson Welle's War of the Worlds. Twice.Yes, I said Twice.Now, the first time was not surprising. A lot of people did. If you've ever listened to that radio program, he did a darn good job. But ... the second time? And it was The Night that Panicked America, a television movie about the making of the radio episode, too. Mom was present for both occurrences, and in 1976, I thought she was going to choke on her own laughter.But I didn't come here to talk about that, either. I came here to talk about ... THE USUAL SUSPECTS INVADE SKYRIM!Sit down, Ulfric. Stand aside, Tullius. Go lay an egg, Alduin. Here come five who will change the game.Aura,Breton; lightning mage. Bretons are curvier than the other races, so yes, she's that busty. I'm not complaining. Ah, waifu! She's already flirting with me. "Aren't you a strapping handsome man. Don't be a stranger!" Hey, this game is fantasy! I'll fix the poke through later. Not today. If you know the game, she has Jordis' voice.Viona,Nord; sword and board warrior. Bash with those boobs! Lydia's voice.Barbie Que,Nord; two-handed barbarian. Speaks like Arnoldina, too. Hulda's voice.Ivana,Imperial; ranger. Bossy! It fits her. Rikke's voice.Renata,Wood Elf; shadowblade. I'd show you her patented backside, but you'd have cardiac failure. Shadowblade doesn't exist as a combat class. Yet. Irileth's voice. What was the first thing they all did? Belly up to the bar in the Bannered Mare. They learned too fast from Aura.I didn't just do this for fun, or to give @akizz, @Janus3003, @Lady-Quantum, and @RagingCyc0ne nose bleeds. I plan now to break them free from the game's mechanics and give them their own frameworks. That means, unique fighting styles, spells, voices, and their own guild. If I can do that, then I'm that much closer to knowing how a game works internally, and that much closer to designing an Aura fantasy adventure game.See, my fun time is educational, too, kids.PBR SKIN UPDATEWhat update? I decided to abandon PBR Skin and return to Uber.Why?Take a look at this:,See how reddish-gray Aura looks? It took me an hour to get her to look that good. PBR Skin is ... unstable. I think it's designed for studio portrait work, where it does look great. It has wonderful depth. But it's far too dependent on the lighting. Well, I don't really do many studio portraits. I make mostly action scenes. Those require skin that is consistent across a multitude of lighting conditions. PBR reached the point of diminishing returns; requiring me to spend more time tweaking it than I spent in scene composition. Uber Skin, however, is stable no matter what lighting I use. For full body action shots, it's more than good enough. So, back to Uber. I did transfer some concepts I learned from PBR, such as superior specular maps and how to use a roughness map. Aura's translucency maps were inferior to what I made for PBR, so I remade those for Uber. And I discovered something that no one noticed (or if you did, you kept it to yourself). Her head and legs did not match her torso and arms. I had seams. Or rather, Aura had seams. When I made her skin set for Uber, I grabbed the wrong head and legs. Well, that's corrected now.,She's happier. I'm happier. Jessie can stop worrying now (nod to @Dangerguy01 and his latest effort to get me to laugh myself to death).For the record, you aren't anyone until a cat can't decide if your sock is a chew toy or a teddy bear. Unfortunately, my foot is in said sock right now.And that's the way it is, Wednesday, September 14, 2022. All y'all groovy hep cats give yourselves a hug today, just for getting out of bed. You hear?. He's also feeling down, so I figured I'd help cheer him up by rendering Renata in something at least a bit similar to what she's wearing in the game.
