I still don't get why people call Godzilla a hero? I mean his is a Anti-hero/villain I think. He destroys things and annihilates all life on earth (In the Godzilla movies.). I'm totally confused on this.

Well in the movie's throughout the decades like the Showa, Heisei, and Millenium Saga. Godzilla is a Hero for most of the Showa Saga, he's a villain from the start of the Heisei Saga and slowly transitions to an Anti-Hero. Then in the Millennium series with all the reboots he's either an Anti-Hero or a Villain.

Don't act like I know anything, when Godzilla first came around in 1954, he was considered a symbol of nuclear destruction. But as the years went on there have been many versions of Godzilla that vary on how he is. Like I said before, there are different Godzilla's from the Showa, Heisei, and Millenium saga's that vary on how his personality is. There is also the cartoon Hannah Barbara Godzilla who does fight along side with humans to help protect the Earth. Godzilla in the 2014 film is a balancer for nature as he killed the MUTO's as a way to save the earth and protect his home own home and in turn, he did save humanity in the process.
