If there is one character that should've made an impact in DC Comics, it should've been Ellen Yin. Originally a stand in to Ellen Yindel from "Dark Knight Returns", Yin was a stand out character for the first two seasons of "The Batman". Since then, no one has seen or heard from this character since, going in favor of The DCAU, and their landmark changes into the DC Mythology. However, in the DC Unlimited, this changes greatly. Playing the role of an aligned universe, Yin's backstory from the show remains in tact with a great difference. In season 2, that was her last appearance, after Batman had become a vigilante the city of Gotham could look up to. While the show opted more in favor of classic Batman stories and characters, Yin wasn't seen again, and the in universe explanation. After Yin saved Gotham, she was approached by a vigilante named Manhunter, revealing herself to be retired D.A. Kate Spencer. For years she had operated as this mysterious vigilante, while operating as Gotham's D.A. following Harvey Dent. With word that her secret identity is about to become public, it only made sense that Kate retire, but pass on the mantle to someone who is worthy. After seeing Yin's arrest record, and her determination to fight for a city without hope, Spencer has passed on the mantle of Manhunter to Ellen. How this will play out for the Gotham City Police, is something yet to be seen
