so I'm testing a program called paint.net. its simple for a creative simpleton like me (its a slightly better ms paint and is free, but more importantly it has layers!).
from my own setting "The Toren Variable"
PHCAF (psuedo heavy combat assist frame):just like the larger HCAF, the pilot's arms and upper torso fits snugly inside the chest of this mech, while their legs fit into the thighs of the PHCAF. while the older and aging pilot system of the HCAF relied on interpreting pilot movement inside a haptic feedback suit, the new PHCAF relies on a neural plug system for better response times.
Neural plug system: a collection of cybernetic plugs located at the joints of the body. this enables the mech's software to interpret signals from localized nerves. this system is similar in concept to the "nerual splint", but while the splint provides better reaction times , the plug is much cheaper and easier to install. the big hurdle for using the plug system is the pilot is still trying to move their own body at the same time they are still receiving feedback signals from the mech's movements. this results in the pilot feeling like they are trapped inside their own body (in comparison the neural splint disconnects the pilot's consciousness from their body, making the mech feel like their own body).
