They are supposed to be a race of ancient beings that claim to have created the allspark, but Ironhide eventually discovers that this is a lie and they are simply holograms generated by small bounty-hunting aliens... hope this helps!

This was a stand-alone story that can be found in IDW's 'Saga of the Allspark' book (that was their name for reprints of UK material). IDW's book printed the stories from the first 8 UK issues (of which this was number 6) but have stopped. We're up to 30 in the UK at the mo.
