Description
For a number of years I've guested at Auto Assembly (Europe's largest Transformers convention) with a host of comicbook artists, writers and voice actors who have worked on TF over the past 25 years. This year, Gregg Berger, the voice of Grimlock in the G1 Transformers cartoon, attended the show and I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a Grimlock piece since I've never drawn him!I thought I'd have a shot at re-designing him to fit with the movie characters, and this is how I'd like him to look. I wanted to get a design of his robot mode done for the con but ran out of time, maybe I'll do it in the future if I get a slot in the schedule!
A big thank you to the fans who liked this piece! I took a load of prints of it to the show and sold every single one of them! Cheers, guys!
Here's to Grimlock in TF3!!! (and hope he looks like a T-Rex!)

It sure does justice to him. He didn't look too scary in G1 (dino mode was so CUTE!) and TFA seemed to statue-esque.

He looks a lot like the Jurassic Park T-Rex. Were you going for that resemblance?

Something that looked a lot more than like what we think a T-Rex should look like (from books, films, etc.), G1 Grimbo looked more like Mecha-Godzilla!

This is truly the best rendition of a 'movie version' Grimlock I've ever seen. Outstanding job. I especially like the fact that most of the Design is based on a Tyrannosaurus skeleton.

Yes, absolutely. Most designs I have seen are either too exaggerated or too chained to the G1 Grimlock. They would not really work in a film. This drawing you did instead looks straight out of a concept art folder for the movie itself, it's jaw-dropping.
