Description
For a number of years I've guested at Auto Assembly (Europe's largest Transformers convention) with a host of comicbook artists, writers and voice actors who have worked on TF over the past 25 years. This year, Gregg Berger, the voice of Grimlock in the G1 Transformers cartoon, attended the show and I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a Grimlock piece since I've never drawn him!I thought I'd have a shot at re-designing him to fit with the movie characters, and this is how I'd like him to look. I wanted to get a design of his robot mode done for the con but ran out of time, maybe I'll do it in the future if I get a slot in the schedule!
A big thank you to the fans who liked this piece! I took a load of prints of it to the show and sold every single one of them! Cheers, guys!
Here's to Grimlock in TF3!!! (and hope he looks like a T-Rex!)

Really like this design of Grimlock, certainly more so than what he ended up looking like in the live action films, especially with how the head looks.

Thank you. I actually did this back in 2009, years before Age of Extinction. Don't think the prediction was too far away but they made the head more dragon-like.

Indeed, something which I still have pretty mixed feelings about, especially considering T. rex as a terrifying animal on its own, especially with those powerful jaws. And quite frankly, I found the exaggerations to the rest of the Dinobots in Age of Extinction to be quite unnecessary. Oh, well....

I can see his backstory as an ancient Autobot with some sort of Viking or Knights of The Round Table theme
