From his stature, the man seems to be a dwarf. Besides, Gandalf is meant to be some sort of wizard, not a warrior. I don't believe it's Gandalf.

Of course it's not. And the Balrog had a whip, and it was far more muscular.
Gandalf is not 4'2, nor does he have a sword and hammer.

Dwarvish Defiance agaisnt devilish deviousness, while the world seeths with the tension.

ok ok.. LOTR yeah.. it was like the coolest part of the movie.. a defiant, brave battle ready warrior.. taking on the most impossible of challenges.. virtuos.. rightious.. it's an inspiring scene... that gandolf only had magic and wits.. but this guy seems like he has that AND the brawn.. I think i've mentioned something similar in a previous piece of yours about the idea of incorporating some sort of movement.. like a blur of a sword to show it being swung.. or sparks of two swords clashing etc.. that would bee cool.. but with such an awsome flaming sword like that!.. it would be greedy, and ingratefull to ask for anything more from such a talented artist. nice piece, keep it up!
