Description
I've had this idea for quite some time now. I finally had the time to make it come to life. This was executed in oil colors, is 24"x30" and had a total working time of 58 hours. Heres an apache gunship acquiring targets and providing security for the convoy of tanks on the ground.Related content

Beautiful work, I'm loving the detail on both the Apaches and the city. Very inspirational for me too, I'm sure I'll be coming back to look at this many more times

Thank you I'm glad it turned out pretty accurate in the eyes of someone who has experience with them

You have a very clean style. It looks like the race track pattern our Apaches run when they are attacking targets. I love the angle and your perspective of the scene. Nice work.

Awesome painting, i really like the RPG trails and the burning car, they're nice touches to an already awesome scene, also, nothing beats a 30mm cannon!

Amazing work the whole scene looks great - I love the people on the rooftops and I especially love the Apaches - they look amazing and pretty accurate, though I'm no expert so I couldn't say for sure. The flare of the cannon was a nice touch
and the empty missile rails

Thank you yeah the smoke was a big part of the painting and the design of the iraqi buildings were a pain to paint with all those angles, i was glad when I was able to finally work on the helicopter

When I saw it, I thought it was "digital", mainly due to all details. Congratulations man, it's great, and I especially enjoyed the smoke effects!

I wonder if that's really low attitude to soar the Apache when in the mess of urban combat.

Pilot's will fly low as both a show of force, and out of necessity for proper target acquisition. I know, because I watched them do it in Afghanistan.
In all honesty, the altitude that these guys are probably at is the "floor" as far as flying low; any pilot will probably tell you they CAN fly lower, but it all depends on what unit protocols are and what their chain-of-command authorizes them to do.
IMO, it would probably be pretty dangerous to fly any lower then these guys already are. lol

Ah, thanks for the info. I do know the low-air cruising is to prevent from radar(except UHF) and giving more aggressive combat. For now to put the Longbow in maximum range and performance is to come with target aids by either laser designators or UAVs.
Whatever it is, I surely say the taste of 30mm would be a demon-kiss.

Very nicely painted! I like all the details you captured in this, from the little palm trees, so the soldiers and people on the roof tops. There is a lot to take in, in this picture, that even after the initial look, i am still finding little things that I did not notice. Air coverage was always a God-send on those long convoys.

Wow, love the details, I can even see people.
I find the smoke one of my favorite parts of the painting. Don't know why.
Anyways, you did amazing job, you deserve every praise. (:

Thank you very much I tried to use the smoke create motion for the helicopter and allow the viewer to mainly focus on the helicopter. Thanks for the compliment!
