Description
This painting measures 30"x40" was executed in oils and had a total working time of 115 hours. This was a commissioned painting for the widow of this warrior, Danny Dietz. On June 28 2005 Dietz and 3 other SEALs assigned to SEAL team 10 battled over 200 Taliban warriors in the mountains of Afghanistan. This painting symbolizes Danny giving his last breath to fight evil and standing proud for his country and his trident. This painting is going to a memorial in Texas to be auctioned off, proceeds are going to the SEAL wounded warrior foundation. This is based off the New York Times best selling book "Lone Survivor"Related content

I would recommend making Marcus's (bottom right) head a little bit smaller

Give them nothing, but take from them EVERYTHING!! Remember this day, brothers! For it shall be ours, for all time!
[SEALs] Lay down your weapons
[Taliban] COME TAKE THEM!!
((quotes from "300" used in honor of bravery, sacrifice, and heroism))

Thank you, I did hear rumors too that they are making a LS movie, I'll be in texas with the family members this weekend so I'll pop the question and let you guys know. I dont think this movie would really be based on a failed mission but rather on how these 4 warriors stood up and fought agains 200 well armed Taliban soliders, Kind of like the movie 300

Powerful stuff.
How do you feel about the rumor that they will make an Op Redwing movie?

They want to do a film about Operation Redwing? What is hollywood's obscession(?) with military operations that fail?

I think it's not about the failure of the mission, but the awesome commitment and supreme loyalty of those who sacrificed their lives while on that mission.
I really know nothing about it, beyond the rumor. I don't know if it's serious or not.
I guess you mean Blackhawk Down - but remember, that mission was a success, it was the extraction that ended up FUBAR. ;/

No, it's not Blackgawk Down. It's a WW2 film. Can't remember what its called.

Hmm. I would class that as a success because they completed their mission. Oh this questions gonna.... no it wasn't WW2! It was set in the first gulf war. Umm, it was about the SAS. I think.

True.
well, then, i've no idea. The only Desert Storm film I've seen was Jarhead, which was pretty weak [imho].

It was Bravo Two Zero. That's the film. One of the very (and thankfully) few times a SAS mission was compromised.

Indeed. I can imagine they would be rather more imformative. As was the case with Jarhead - the book being much better and more effective than the movie.

Yeah, same here. And since one of them is written by Chris Ryan, it's gonna be accurate as hell.
