*****SPOILER ALERT FOR THIS WEEK'S NEW SEASON 8 EPISODE*******...seriously, it took me 8 seasons to start caring about all the unanswered questions.... because now they're GETTING RIDICULOUS!!! Also SilverKnight27 solves problem with nuggets ^^.
Jasper's ACTUAL thoughts: So yee, it finally happened - Spike finally hit puberty and gots WINGS!!! I saw the preview, I was worried like "Are they permanent, or will they just fall off at the end" but nope, THEY'RE HERE TO STAY!!! I liked how they had to establish that NATURAL growing and Spike's little giant incident from Season 2 are completely different... and I'm just glad he brought it up at all. Like I said in the comic, they brought up how phoenix feathers cause deafness.... and don't explain WHY!!!! Also, Spike, I'm pretty sure if Twilight wanted to kick you out, she would've done it by now. But overall, I believe this episode had a moral that we can all get behind: PUBERTY IS A TERRIFYING THING!!!!!!!

Regarding the whole deaf thing, I thought they meant that it only happened on occasion, like it only affected some ponies, but not all of them. Hence why Celestia, Twilight and Fluttershy were never affected by Philomena.
