Description
My dad just bought this really great collection of video seminars by Dr. Kent Hovind who studies creation, the bible, evolution and dinosaurs (yay!) and they totally rock! One of his video seminars (the third i think) was on the topic of dinosaurs and the bible. The evidence that dinosaurs existed at the same time as man is so overwhelming, it just totally blows evolution's theory of them being extinct a gazillion years ago out of the water! Dr. Hovind explained that God created everything in six days (including dinosaurs, of course), and the bible says that all the creatures ate plants and lived peacefully with each other (you know, the lion resting with the lamb deal) which means the dino's would have lived peacfully with the humans and everything, and then he said that later on the FLOOD was the start of their decline. not meteors or stuff like that. Noah did take dinosaurs on the boat, but Dr. Hovind explained that he took BABY ones on it (common sense ,huh?) i mean, babies eat less, they're smaller, and they live longer to make more babies after they get off the boat. And it was probably the same deal with all the other large animals like elephants and giraffes and such. Then the bible says that after the flood, God made it acceptable for animals to eat meat, which was one cause for the decline of the dino's. First off, the flood changed the earth's climate drastically (which was hard on ALL the animals) and secondly, they would now be hunted for meat just like common deer or antelope or whatever. People wouldn't be amazed at seeing dinosaurs and thus not hunt them, dino's were common. People probably hunted them just like we hunt elk now. Plus, why do so many legends and records talk about dragons? I think dragons were dinosaurs. Also, ever heard of the loch ness monster? There's tons more accounts of dinosaur like creatures all over the world, not just nessie. There's a huge swamp/marsh in Africa (not even totally explored) where the natives talk about seeing animals that fit the description of those one long necked dino's (i forget the name of em'). But, anyway!! sorry for the looong story thingy. If anybody wants to know more about this stuff just go here:www.drdino.com/articles.php?sp…

Allow me to assure you that I am not looking for a fight here. I am not attempting to attack your religion as a whole, as that is none of my business. I am simply trying to debate these claims, which seem very unscientific indeed.
Overwhelming evidence of human/dinosaur coexistence? Dinosaur fossils disappear after 65 mya (million years ago), and the first hominid fossils appear 4 mya. You can't throw information like that out the proverbial window.
The so-called Chicxulub crater, located in Mexico, is almost certainly evidence of the destructive meteor impact that caused the dinosaurs' extinction. It has the right age (65 million years) and the right size (enormous).
On the other hand, there is no evidence of a flood that would have put the Earth under 5 miles (the height of the Himalaya mountains, assuming the water covered the entire planet). Nor is there any evidence in our DNA or that of other organisms of the genetic bottleneck that would have been caused by descent from only one pair of ancestors (think of the immense inbreeding that would result).
The universe is approximately 13 billion years old. This has been proven by many different observable facts. For example, the fact that we can see stars over 6000 light-years away. If the world is 6000 years old, we wouldn't be able to observe those stars, as their light wouldn't have reached us yet.
Evolution is applied and studied in fields as diverse as agriculture, anthropology, conservation biology, ecology, medicine, paleontology, philosophy, and psychology along with other specific topics in the previous listed fields. It makes correct and useful predictions. An incorrect theory would not be able to do so.

"On November 2, 2006, Hovind was found guilty by a jury in a Pensacola, Florida federal court of fifty-eight federal tax and tax-related offenses; his wife, Jo, was also convicted on 44 counts. On January 19, 2007, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, three years of probation after his sentence is served, and $640,000 in restitution. He had been previously ordered to forfeit $430,400 and faced a maximum of 288 years in prison."
This man is a SAINT.

wow an entire website just to bash Kent Hovind? those people have entirely too much time on their hands.
thank you for your comment
have you seen any of his seminar videos? He bases all his info that he discusses out of the Bible, and uses truthful information in history to back it up.

I also find it very interesting. I didn't know much about the theories of the flood and how the animals were stored until now, thank you so much for sharing. Another thing I find interesting in the Bible are the old civilizations of humans, with their governments and wars, I should read on that, too.
It's so silly to see people wondering about the creation of the earth and how people came to be. All the answers are in the Bible! Though I can see why they would be confused, creation is a very big thing to understand for us humans. Some times it seems the entire world denies the Bible like some monsterous thing, which makes me think: Christianity and the Bible stands out.. and people are almost treating it like an other-worldly object they should not believe in. (for example they want to exterminate the "christ" out of Christmas) They don't act this way around other religions and their books, so in my mind it proves even more that the Bible is true! Anyway, nice info, I'm glad I got to see this!

Your welcome!
and i totally agree with you! it seems that, in making such a big deal in trying to suffocate christianity, non believers actually prove that it really is a big deal. I think deep down, people know the bible to be true, and it bothers them. That's why they try to snuff it out of society (i think). It's always the case that people don't like the idea of God making the rules in their lives. I mean, come ON. "yes, boys and girls, one day NOTHING EXPLODED and became EVERYTHING." lol Kent Hovind says that in one of his videos that discuss evolution (he's so hilarious!)
You and all the other christians on this site are such a blessing!!! I feel like i know you guys already even though we've never met! I guess having Jesus in us is what does that, and i'm glad

I know! I also love hearing about this! To me it makes total sense that they'd be alive at the same time as man, it's still a surprising thought at the same time too, since evolution has been shoved down my throat since kindergarten. (and they say that WE'RE non tolerant...) lol

That's really cool!
Sorry it took me so long to read it
I really enjoy stuff like this and have SO many interesting conversations about this kind of stuff at school. Its awesome! Glad to hear you're so enthused about it too.
It also talks in Job about the "behemoth" (Job 40:15) and the "leviathon" (Job 14:1) which are believed to be dinosaurs by some.

that's awesome ^^
I love hearing about stuff like that there's such overwhelming proof, I have no idea why Evolution is such a big deal, they don't have anything <.< it's as much, and even more so, a religion as Christianity is..
have you ever seen any of the Answers In Genesis seminar dvds?
I haven't heard of Kent Hovind.. but Ken Ham is a good speaker..
I believe in dragons!

I really enjoyed reading this. In the Psalms David also talks about dragons and unicorns. We still have the Komoto Dragon today so that is understandable to me also. I do think that one day many people are going to be really suprised when they do find out the truth about creation. I really am glad that I have the Bible so I already know.
