Description
Karen smiled as she rode along side her father in their rickety, old car, on their way to perhaps the biggest party she had ever seen. Karen's family lived on a farm far into the flat Wyoming landscape, away from the bold, bright, city. It was a treat to travel into town for errands and such, and even more so for a party. She sighed as she watched the lonely barren landscape race by and wondered who would be at the party. She had a very good idea who she wanted to be there. No, surely he wouldn't be there, Karen thought, resting her chin in her hand. She had half given up hope of ever seeing him again.
She had first seen him about two weeks ago in Mac's Grocery Store (yes, i know thats a dorky name lol) and Karen couldn't stop thinking about him.
She leaned out the window as they drove through the outskirts of town, toward a large, two story house surrounded by a grove of towering oak trees. As they got closer Karen could hear the sounds of warm laughter, the welcoming aroma of hamburgers and apple pie circling through the air.
Hope poured through Karen's soul as she took in the wonderful surroundings. Maybe, she thought, maybe. Her father smiled at her and told her to grab the dumpling soup out of the back seat. She wobbled slightly under the weight of the pot, and took off running toward the excitement of the party, expertly dodging people left and right. An elderly man scolded her speed in such an unsafe area.
Too late, Karen misjudged her step and ran straight on into a guest lounging near the front door, sending them both sailing to the ground.
She looked up and opened her mouth to speak, but her voice died in her throat. It was him, at long last. He laughed sweetly and stared intensely into her eyes. She almost melted on the spot.
"I really am so terribly sorry, I...I...merely lost control of where i was going...and..." she stopped. He said nothing, but simply smiled at her. She was powerless, and couldn't help but return the gesture.
Karen's father sprinted up to her and quickly helped her to her feet.
"What happened? Are you alright?" he cried.
"yes, im fine" he looked hard at her as if not believing that she was not injured.
"I just ran into this boy here and its really all right. We both seem to be okay." Karen explained. Her father looked at her quizically.
"What are you talking about Karen? What boy?" her father said searching the crowd.
"Why, that boy standing in front of you, right now." Karen stared at his twinkling eyes and dazzling smile. Her father stared at her for a moment and then took her arm.
"Theres no one there, sweetie. Come, lets go join the party."

I love it! Stop putting your writing skills down, because they win at life.
However, you being scannerless makes you not-so-much win at life...

You're making your stories SHORTER THAN MINE?! This cannot be... You might force me to do something DRASTIC about the situation at hand, pal...
However, the story is fantasticmo! (I can say that in eight languages. Not really. That part was a lie. You're ignoring this part, aren't you?)<--IGNORE THE PARENTHESES.
Ahem. Anyways, you rule. This story rules. But I bet you already knew that.
