Description
My friend ask me to paint her like an under sea alien creature. Because she likes beautiful aliens like meSo I am studying sea creatures - transparent materials etc... it's hard to paint for me... but I would like to plan before final as much as I can. Don't you know some interesting animals for inspiration?

Stunning detail and stylization of the fins! It looks almost blocky, and you captured the glimmer of scales really well. Great job!

As andrebalanceart said, mantis shrimp is great.
I add to possible inspirations : blue ringed octopus, Portuguese man o' war, Glaucus atlanticus (sea snail without shell), lion fish, cone snails, sea urchins (prettier ones, of course).

Look up "Nudibranch" for a creature that's very alien looking and quite colorful.
