My metallic alien creature again. Took me three days to paint this picture. I was inspired while looking out my back door during a mild winter's day. The warm weather created a thick fog that rolled in, making the small woodlot out back look quite interesting.Basically I wanted to show how the creature uses it's highly reflective skin as a form of camoflauge. The creature's skin is made up of highly polished microscopic interlinking scales, giving it a sheen not unlike polished chrome.
The creature ISN'T a robot...and is NOT a blob of shape-shifting liquid metal. It is a living organism, a highly intelegent alien creature of my own design. [/ mini-rant]

The background is astounding... I used to live in MD and sometimes during the winter it would do that... so I know how that misty snow look feels.... just awsome!

Rawk. Just....rawk. That background is amazing, simply gorgeous. That's the only time I've ever seen that kind of wilderness portrayed withough strolling through the woods in winter. Awesome.

[Wow, you can really just feel the whole forest around you as you look at this picture! It has such depth and feeling to it! Amazing. The way the creature blends in to its surroundings is really cool; you kind of have to search for it, even when you know where it is. The little blades of grass sticking up in the snow and the leaves on the tree in the front...just wow. The shading is wonderful, and I am just blown away by the amount of detail and work you put into this. It's beautiful.

I've always loved your metallic creature. It looks exceptionally nice here. There's so much detail and depth to this painting, and the reflections on his skin look fantastic. The snow is also very well done, as is the tree in the bottom left foreground with the two leaves. So much detail! Fantastic work, as usual. Your talents amaze me.

but i wouldnt think your little creature looks like a robot or T1000 thingy. the texture of its skin makes it look like the skin of some amphibious creature like a frog or newt

very nice. i like how the creature seems to blend in with the plantlife. does the creature have a name yet?
some of the highlighting on the trees appear too stark. the snow looks more like ice from the shading, but it just might be from lack of texture.
