My metallic alien creature again. Took me three days to paint this picture. I was inspired while looking out my back door during a mild winter's day. The warm weather created a thick fog that rolled in, making the small woodlot out back look quite interesting.Basically I wanted to show how the creature uses it's highly reflective skin as a form of camoflauge. The creature's skin is made up of highly polished microscopic interlinking scales, giving it a sheen not unlike polished chrome.
The creature ISN'T a robot...and is NOT a blob of shape-shifting liquid metal. It is a living organism, a highly intelegent alien creature of my own design. [/ mini-rant]

This is Just amazing...Not just the technique and how real this looks, or how vivid are those trees and snow...
I lilke the feeling of the picture, the contrast in it...Contrast between the creature as the pure mechanical form, and the forest as the pure organic form and nature...

One of the cool traits of this creature is that it seems to 'work' in just about any enviornment you put it in.
Have you ever thought about naming the species, or giving this paticular creature a name?

God, the detail! I've been keeping an eye on your work for a while, and only wish I could say that I actually *know* you. In truth, I only know some other people that know you, those I've met through the Gryphon Guild and like places.
And I tell you-- I would kill to paint something like this in only three days. The reflection of the trees/sticks on its body astound and boggle my mind.

That is so excellent. You do so well with making everything so realistic with the lighting and shadow. I like the reflective skin of the creature, and how well you did the snow and trees. Especially with acyrlic. For me it's hard to get lines crisp on canvas. I'm adding another one of yours to my favs...
