Description
Dre'al, my Elite fan character. This picture started off as just practice rendering explosions in photoshop, and eventually it evolved into this...I picture Dre'al stalking through the ruins of some Earth city ravaged by the Covenant horde, when some Marine(or Spartan?) with a Rocket Launcher tries to take him out. Fortunately missing a direct hit, but causing some unseen object (perhaps a fuel drum) to explode into flames. Causing Dre'al's overshield to flare blue, and force the Elite to dive to the side. His dual Plasma Rifles at the ready.
Done with Adobe Photosho 7.0, took over 17 hours from start to finish. Not a line drawn outside the computer (rare for me).

Exactly what I would have done in the Elite's position if I was him, although I think an Imperial Admiral's shields would have been strong enough to stop the blast of a Rocket.

Really lovely and awesome explosion. That could have reduced his personal shield by a quarter(or a half?),no matter, he has dodged the missile narrowly. He could be thinking to himself "whew!, close shave or I would have been blown to bits and pieces." By the way, excellent work on this. Surely my favourite!

I like it, it's a pitty he doesn't die but don't take that as a negative I'm just a sicko who loves seeing covenant suffer, really don't pay any attention to me it'll only make things worse. *isn't scarcastic, it's a great picture!*

Your Halo art kicks so much ass. I can't wait to get my grubby little claws on Halo 2...I'm going insane here! I've got a sudden urge to try and draw an elite...but I'd probably screw it up. Might try anyway, cause I won't know until I do.
Haha! You get to use the PLASMA SWORDS in Halo 2!! Sitting on my big butt watching TechTV all day was fun indeed. It'd b kind of interesting if they made a game from the Covenant's point of view.

Hard to nitpick this. As has been stated, the explosion, shield effect, and general look of the picture are great. But am I the only one who think those plasma rifles look kinda tiny?

Ooo, you brought way more action into it than I imagined 
He looks very intelligent as he's (it's a he right?) is avoiding the explosion (well it was in the AI code in Halo, I guess) and the looking down look, uh, kind of expresses "Yeah right, like that lame explosion would get me."
