Hahaha! Man this is old. I honestly even forgot I posted it here!

I still prefer the creature designs from the original game vs the sequels. The Covenant species were all so much more sleek and interesting. They just seemed to get so bulky and less interesting with every sequel; Jackals, Grunts, and Elites especially. Brutes, ugh.... never liked 'em. Only the Hunters got better designed over time, but that's just imo.

well look at my favs, I have 20 total, over a year and only 20 favs, you can tell I pick and choose my gift art. Gift art, woo!

I'm happy you like it.

And I should be thanking you, since I've not drawn any Halo related artwork in weeks until now. You're little comment inspired me to grab my pencil and pens again.

And true enough, Jackals aren't THAT ugly... Tho' I think the ones with the helmets are cuter than the ones with the crests... XD

The shield looks like it does because I used the Halo PC version of 'em instead of xbox(where they have the yellow or blue shields). Otherwise, that Jackal is from Halo(not from Halo2...those look WAY different)...used my mini action figure and a few screenshots as refference. I think I messed up the neck tho', a bit to long...but otherwise, turned out almost perfect.

Again. Just hearing you enjoyed it makes it worth the few hours it took to draw and color it.

Ah yes, well that jackal picture you got that comment from that I drew was actually part of a comic. Remember in the Guilty spark level, after you find the flood a little while later you see two jackals dead on what looks to be a big crate, with two marines next to them with shot gun rounds all around. blood is everywhere. looking at that I thought that these jackals and marines must have joined together to make a last stand against the flood.

...I know I get inspired from something as little as a few dead marines and jackals, but I wanted to draw a comic of how they teamed up and how long they lasted before they eventually got overrun. but however I was pretty tired when I inked it and thats all that turned out ok, so... no comic. =\

Well what goes around comes around, you just inspired a few little pictures from me now. now I gota draw dev with a pet jackal. and maybe a little something for you for the hell of it. (I need more practice drawing furres and wings anyway)

Damn shame you didn't go anywhere with that comic. I think it's an AWESOME idea...

If you need any kind of refference pic's of jackals from the game, I have links...and several good screenshots I can send you via email. But that's only if you need 'em, and I sort of doubt that. Thought I'd offer 'em anyway.

Hmm, well... Jackals I have my own style for (as you can see I draw them a bit differently than you see in the game and etc.) however I could use a few refference pics, I just been using that render of a jackal from halo 2.

But all in all its the humans. cant draw humans, (I know I said this many times before but its true.) I told this comic idea once to draco and I think she was almost threatning me to redo it. ...maybe if I get some inspiration.
