Description
Sometimes you just want to draw for the fun of it. And I wanted to draw some fan-art like I used to, about a decade ago. Before Pokemon, before Halo.... there was Sonic and Tails.
Oldschool versions. From the era of Sonic 2 and 3, the Sat' AM cartoon, and the Archie Comics Sonic series (before Sonic turned into a shallow, poser of a character).

Hey I still play those sega games and my older brother was obsessed with that cartoon and he owns old dvds of a few episodes of the series.
So the old Sonic still lives in my heart!!

I too prefered Sonic back when it was Sonic 2-3 (and Knuckles) and when there were the SatAM cartoons ;_; How I miss those times. There's no cartoon that surpasses the SatAM and Archie Comics storyline -_-; I mean, Sonic always had an attitude, but it's turned rather stupid and as you said, 'shallow', to this point. *sighs*
I also miss the good old games.. Now it's all about racing through human cities and all, followed by bad voice acting -_- ... I prefered to have Sonic race on Emerald Island and the like. That storyline was simple, but it was more fun then it is now. And the style of the games and cartoons back then was better then it is now if you ask me
Anyways, great depiction! It really made me nostalgic ^^

Ahh, Sonic; the game that ruled the world back in the day. I have to admit though, I never got to play it until '04; I wasn't even allowed to have a game console until '02.

Sonic and Tails were my idols when I was five. I used to watch the cartoons at 5:00 am and I even have S & T plushies!
Do you like Knuckles? I think he's an awesome character in himself. A lot of people here do awesome pictures of Knuckles and other echidna-related sides of Sonic the Hedgehog.
I wish Sega didn't die and sell-out to every other system. They were awesome for Genesis and Game Gear. Dreamcast wasn't that good, but I bet, given time, they would have risen up between Xbox and PS.

The Dreamcast was the reason we have the PS2 and the XBox with the game and graphics standards we have today. (*cough*gamecube pwnz over those again due to the ATi engine, but have too many kiddy-based games to show it's potential, unless you see it running Resident Evil/BioHazard). I mean, how many months/near year was it out before the others hopped on the bandwagon?
It's just unfortunate that the Dreamcast came with a huge pricetag (at least in Australia) when it first came out. Though, I was amused when the XBox came out with it's practical duplicate of the dreamcast controller, down to the memory ports in the top! I mean, what the hell? XDDDDD It's the same thing with the Game Gear. Was really, really awesome- a full colour portable handheld (that took 4 AA batteries >_>
