Description
There's a very long story behind this image.It took four years from the spring I took the photos of the apple blossoms (the trees died the very next spring), to the last brush stroke. This painting was a journey in every sense of the word. I had to stop working on it when my old computer started to struggle with the file size. The old rig couldn't take it anymore. Eventually I thought I lost the PSD file. All I had were two small jpgs of the unfinished piece. Fast forward to today, and while looking through my portable hard drive for a music soundtrack, I stumbled into the file. And Corel Painter worked. So.... I finished it.
Be gentle. It's not perfect, but it's done.

What an oddessy of a story behind this picture! It was very much worth it in my opinion - what lovely details, from the dragon's scales and wing membranes to the fluffy little be to the gorgeous blossoms. Stunning!

This is such a beautiful painting! Everything looks so real. I love the contrast between the foreground and the blue background. The dragon, the bee and the blossoms look very lifelike because of all those amazing details and the coloring.
