Given the events in in the Half-Life series I don't think at any point going forward will Gordon ever have to worry about being able to find a job or work. Seeing as how in that situation there probably wouldn't even be that many humans left alive (even enough to fill a single city with more than 500,000) I don't think there will be many white collar scientific research jobs for him; more like just barely finding enough to survive day to day. Although that is funny, I think after that much trauma Gordon talking may be a bad thing; usually when people do something completely outside their character that's a bad sign of PTSD.
