Hey guys,By natures hand, by craft by art, what once was one now FLY APART!!!!!
Heres Cindarr from the 80's cartoon Visionaries :Knights of the magical light.
Cindarr was always my favourate character from the series, Mainly because he was the strongest of all the knights (Rivaling Cryotek) and because he had the most badass staff power- Destruction, as soon as he chanted those words all hell would break loose...for about 10 seconds
He also had the animal totem of the gorilla, which is why in my version of him has ridiculously large arms, I wanted to depict a ''gorilla-like'' body without him changing into it.
I always sensed, even though cindarr's allegiance was with the darkling lords, He was never truly evil. I always thought of him as a gentle giant, he was the simplist of the knights but he always shown a great compassion to animals.
While Visionaries didnt share the sucess of Thundercats, Transformers, He-man etc It'll always be one of my favourate cartoons ever. It only had a total of 13 episodes. If you can find the dvd or even find them on the net, Give them a watch.
Anyways, I could talk about Visionaries and the other 80's toons all day. Its an underated gem that I'll never forget.

Spectacular! Always loved Cindarr, particularly when he summoned the Beast of Destruction and as it rampaged around, he'd proudly proclaim how he'd taught it a trick!

I held onto an old video of visionaries for years until it finally packed in D: Luckily years later i found a dvd in HMV! Huzzah! Best 80's cartoon EVER!!! and yes id love to see you do more characters!!

Personally, I'd love to see all the power staffs, but if I had to choose one for you to do right now, I'd have to say Witherquick's Lightspeed totem.

What a striking image! I'm not even sure where to begin on this one, there are so many things going on that are ace! Your skills with color, as always, shines through on this one. I'm really liking the balance of warm and cool colors that blend seemlessly in those mountains and stones, as well as in the Cindarr himself. One thing that I always love about your work is how you manage to fit so much character and expression among all those chunky muscles of the subjects 
Epic work, man, you really have a nack for combining opposite elements (cool and warm, calm and raging).

I know. Visionaries was one heck of a cool series. The only reason it got canceled was because the toys didn't sell well.

Also, I forgot to mention it before, but I agree with you about Cindarr. The only reason he hooked up with the Darkling Lords is because Darkstorm basically forced him and several of the others to swear loyalty to him in exchange for freeing them from that trap.
And there is certainly plenty of evidence to back up Cindarr being a good person at heart, especially in the episode where they have to retrieve a unicorn horn and a dragon's claw. Not only did he save the baby unicorn, rather than harm it, but when Arzon came down with the plague, instead of attacking him, he chose to help cure it, and thus save everyone.
Seriously, it's that sort of thing that makes me wish they'd bring back this show. There are all kinds of stories that could be told with characters such as that.

I totally agree, Infact the one with the unicorn and the dragon is probably my favourate episode, either that or the sun imps episode(BEWARE YOUR HAIR!!!) I loved it when they went into a certain characters back story Such as ectar and reekon's past rivalry and when cryotek goes mental and you see his home town in the north, it really kinda opened up story as a whole.
Most of the cartoons I watched as a kid I have on dvd now, I just love chilling out and watching them from time to time, they never fail to send me back to when I was I kid, In a way the kinda had a part of defining who I am today, there's something about them that always inspires me, And its a shame they dont make them like they used to, as far as I know the stuff the kids watch these days is utter crap. well over here in the uk anyway.
But Visionaries, ghostbusters, He-man, thundercats, Bravestar, Jayce and the wheeled warriors, galaxy rangers and the rest will always hold a special place in my mind.
As a matter of fact im booked in next month for a tattoo of the thundercats logo (Being my favourate cartoon. Ever.) with flames and stuff around it. I hope the remake is good, Its looks alright but im sceptical about it.
