Description
Here's the entire group.
This picture inspired by a group vector of the Mane 6 with the elements done by ~Ryoki-Fureaokibi .I can already hear the protests, heh, so I'll address 'em now:
(1) Yeah, I have only 1 pegasus and 3 Earth ponies here, so there isn't a perfect race balance. The alternative was to boot Dr. Whooves and stick Raindrops in here, but Rainy is nowhere near as popular a BG pony.
(2) Derpy has the Big Crown Thingy, yet she isn't a unicorn? Well, we don't know how the magic for the Elements of Harmony works, maybe it doesn't even require a unicorn to wield it. *shrug* Also, muffins are magic, so that should be a good enough explanation on its own.
As to the names of the respective elements, feel free to think some up. Here are my suggestions:
Dr. Whooves/Time Turner: Compassion
Lyra Heartstrings: Melody
Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo: Joy
Octavia: Integrity
Vinyl Scratch: Er . . . wubs?
Bon Bon: Sweetness
Feel free to leave your own ideas though!

I love the choices and thought the three use different music types, these elements aren't really balanced. of course I don't know what they represent and so can easily fail to look past that... Anyway love it.

I'd have Derpy be the Element of Courage.
I mean, it's clear from all the different events she's been at that she refuses to let her disability or her eccentricities stop her from going out, being active socially, and generally living her life to the fullest. I mean, among other places, we've seen her at an assertiveness seminar, a dance show, a fashion show, a diving tournament, at least one Grand Galloping Gala, a royal wedding, and Princess Twilight's coronation, all without looking awkward or self- conscious at all! Plus, of course, in 'Twilight's Kingdom,' she was willing to at least try to fight back against Tirek alongside the other Pegasi. Then, in the end of that episode, when all the other residents of Ponyville arrive at Twilight's new castle, Derpy is the very first one to enter it! Not the Cutie Mark Crusaders, not Granny Smith, DERPY!
I'd say Derpy Hooves is easily one of the bravest characters in 'FIM,' and I think she'd be perfect for the Element of Courage.

I don't know all that much about some of these characters. Haven't seen the 100th episode in full, just small bits. However, I did catch the Doctor Whooves part where him and Derpy are talking. And I think it'd be ironically cool if Whooves was the lead element. Yeah, him in a crown may be a bit odd, but...Just change up the look so it looks less like a tiara and more like a crown. Also, the interesting points why he'd be cool for the element of magic:
-He did say that there are some things that magic can't explain, and how science and math were the REAL magic. It'd make for an interesting new twist
-As I understand, earth ponies are the least in tuned with raw magic. To me, that just makes it all the more reason to make him that element. Shaking up the status quo and all that
-And again shaking up the status quo...He's the ONLY male pony in this group or the current element users.
