This year, I will be a guest at The Cherry Capital Comic Con (C4) www.cherrycapitalcon.com/ in Traverse City, Michigan on Memorial Day weekend. In conjunction with the release of the Bodie Troll trade paperback this month, I was asked by the con promoters to design a Bodie-themed poster to promote the show. If you're not familiar with Traverse City, it's a beautiful lakeside town in Northwest Michigan, famous for its tourism, and for being a major producer of cherries and their related products. I thought it would be fun to have Bodie and his friends enjoying the local favor in their own ways.Bodie Troll and all related characters and stories Β© Jay P. Fosgitt

If they give me any extra at the show, I'll save you one. Mike and Rob at C4 still need to add in their text at the top and bottom, so I won't have any copies until I get up to Traverse City.

I didn't go to the Cheery festival there when I was little and living in Grand Rapids, though I've been to the Tulip festival in Holland, MI. Β Traverse City also figures in the Nick Adams stories of Ernest Hemingway. Β Sweet work with all the cherries and the many ways to enjoy them. Β It's a cute touch to have a troll like Bodie at this festival, since I think the "Yoopers" (people living in the Upper Peninsula, or UP) call those who live on the Lower Peninsula "trolls."
