If you like Muppets as much as I do (and a pox on you if you don't), then you should recognize Manamanah and the Snowfs from a classic bit on the Muppet Show (or if you're a reeeeaaallly big fan, from their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show a decade earlier). This was from my recent Jim Henson commission drive, which ends on Monday, January 31st at midnight. Yep, I remember this from watching Muppets when I was a kid. Best sketch not involving a guest star (best guest star, in my humble opinion--Alice Cooper!! Followed by Debbie Harry and John Cleese). It's been used in a Diet Dr. Pepper commercial (at least I think that was the drink), and it was referenced in one episode of the English dub of Negima (2nd season), riffing on the name of one of the schoolgirls, Mana. The dub of the 2nd season of Negima is filled with those odd little moments of WTF? humor. I salute you, FPH.

I remember when I got the first season of "The Muppet Show" on DVD, and this was the first skit in the very first episode. I literally went "Oh yes!" (And I think my mom did too, 'cause she loves this bit.)

My fav part was how he started to scat-riff, and then when the Snowfs got this "WTH?" look, he meekly went back to the Mannamanna. ^_^ Classic!

Unless my memory is off, I believe this sketch was done on "Muppets Tonight" years later, but with "Phenomenon" in place of "Manah Manh".
Nonetheless, great drawing. It's opened the floodgate of childhood memories.
