I saw the movie design for Sonic, and I for 1 am quite fond of it.
Very well suited for the live action/computer animation crossover effect.

I'm one of those who continue to give this film a chance. It simply wouldn't be me if I didn't. Besides, for nearly eighteen years now, I've been seeing Sonic through the good, the bad, and the so-bad-it's-ugly. There's no way I'm about to stop now.

Yes, I heard about it. If the director wants what's best for the film, I strongly recommend that he does that. I understand it may cost a bit to do that, but if it were to pay off in the long run, I don't see why it shouldn't happen.

Paramount and Sega listened to the backlash and are about to give the movie Sonic a reworked look hopefully before the movie is released in November, unless the movie gets pushed a month later or a few months after 2020 begins.

I'm honestly still looking forward to the movie - even though the animation looked kinda weird in some scenes in the trailer, but it's tolerable. I was initially in fear of seeing the trailer and seeing it going the Jem and the Holograms 2015, but I'm glad that wasn't the case.

I saw the trailer too, and what's the deal? Anthro-Sonic has separate eyes and blue arms - a design choice that I like!
I'll admit I'm not sure about the humanlike teeth, of course... as a half-realistic hedgehog, he ought to have hedgehog teeth. Whenever I draw Frederick or any of my otters with an open mouth these days, we'll often get a flash of their cute little fangs - they're carnivores, even if it's only for fish or non-anthro roast chicken!
But in short... I rather liked the design myself! Especially that close-up face shot at the start, "Gotta go fast!" Though granted the shot of him and the cop exchanging startled scream seems a little weird. Still, this could be a good film (or laughably cheesy) if we give it a fair chance?
Because unlike the whiners and the haters, I believe in focusing on the positives rather than the negatives.
I'm a little more concerned about Jim Carrey's appearance as Eggman. He doesn't seem to get the classic bald moustachioed look until near the end... though on the other hand, at least he has plenty enough ham to play a giant talking egg...
(Again to give an example, I could be disappointed by the limitations of the character-creator in Sonic Forces - like having only a limited choice of species - but instead I decided to roll with it and adapt, and was pleased with what I managed to create. Danbuster's counterpartΒ Danbunny is a rabbit, because at least that's near enough to a hare.
And when I had the chance to create a second Avatar in the endgame, I made Fredowolf, a counterpart for Frederick. We have no option for mustelid types, so I chose an alternative fuzzy-furred predator type.
For Marquila the eagle, I can use a hook-beaked golden bird if I like - though since there's no rodent option, I'm not sure what my rat Spencer's counterpart could be)

The only thing that seems interesting to me is Dr. Eggman. LOL Just the fact that Jim Carrey is playing him. He did good as The Grinch. I'm still not sure if I'm going to see it or not. I'm not into live action movies. Just Sonic is kinda creepy looking. Sorry! I like him as a cartoon and video game.
