Description
The Royal army went into battle knowing that they had no chance of victory -- but dying for the Queen was an honorable death. They charged on through the thick smoke, and with heavy hearts, they shouted, "Onward for the Queen!!"Like rain drops onto the ground, they fall.
I wasn't kidding when I said, "leave it and come back to it in six months time".
Ahh, they're so many versions of this. Like many other artworks, I started this in January. I didn't like it back then... but I like it now, hehe... I hope you do as well
Edit: Barbed wires removed.

the first impression this work gives off is that of absolute aww its a great eye caching piece of art the color scheme and the overall darkness of the work gives off this great eerie with the hand held light source further improving this feel
now for the things that wasn't so perfect
first of all the use of barbed wire fencing really takes you out of the medieval era theme and puts a more modern wars feel into it
the second thing was main mans absolute motionless while everything else was brimming with energy it just a little out place
third are minor lighting pet peeves like the lack of light on the left side of the standing persons helmet and face although his clothes are somewhat lit from that angle and the massive well lit wall in the background with no obvious source of lighting
overall its a great work

Well, watching this piece, the first things reaching the eye are these strong fires and sparks filling the air! This is so touching considering men's passion to do their duty at this moment. As for the horses, their poses (while under moving) are quite successful and the riders' positions are so close. Mainly, I admire the red/brown colors of such an era clothing, because they' re turning into a more "aristocratic" and serious essence. Coming closer to the one who stands still, I almost see an ironic certainty in his face. He might seems like he definitely doesn't know what's going to come after, but he's so determined that somewhere inside his heart he feels that "maybe if we give all the power we have, we'll get alive out of this"!! And in a more complete way of viewing this picture, I would say that the way light meets cloths and horses backs brings out something emotional. It brings out "hope".
-This is epic-
