this is pretty wild. it's not 7 pieces its 1 sculpture. to me it's got an elegant aggressive nature, perfect for someones corporate head quarters.

have you considered working with cor-ten for outdoor sustainability? it would be horrible if your sculpture rusted away within mere years.

being your first large scale piece of this design, i'd say its a success, and to continue on.

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate your take on it.

I will be working with cor-ten yes. It will rust away I know, but it will last a long time time still.

I'm hoping for more commissions in the near future.

this is made from 12ga aswell? the fluidity of it is very deceptive, i thought it was thinner matieral (16-18ga). oh yea, you've got many years before this falls apart. awesome.

Awww this is awesome! I like the composition very much! Also it looks great in nature exterior. And that module that is more rusty from the others is great accentuation! Congratulations!

THANK YOU!!

ummmmmm I kinda didn't keep track. I just followed a deadline. but I could guesstimate about 20-40 hours per shape.

Something i was wondering that i wasn't going to mention in the context of input is 'why 7 (so many) segments?'. Nature usually has 3 (see here [link] ), or 5 (see here [link] )segments. So our mind's eye can't perceive serenity, ballance (or simplicity even if the shapes are relatively simple) when there's more than that going on. I'm not saying you need to always be following nature's example, or even want those characteristics in the design or are trying for that effect on the viewer. Or that you're even interested in 'the why'. But i am left wondering why.
Especially if a design 2 segments fewer would have saved you a week's work at least.

hehe it would have saved me some work indeed. 7 seemed to be a good number for the piece because it has a brush stroke appearance. I was going for a gestural approach.

It was my first large scale piece of this design. More monumental pieces are going to be made in this motif. Your feedback is apreciated so much!

Critique is the best payment I can receive for my work. Thank you!
