Hillo, guys!

I've spent half of an hour trying to decide on the name of Axl's new gun. This name you see in the final sheet was suggested to me XD

OK, so, this year, X DiVE had a Summer Event (again, we had, like, three of them in total this year actually). It introduced more female characters with swimsuits (who I liked better than the girls from the last year)... but no boys in sight. Really, male characters rarely even get seasonal S-rank units, let alone a summer-themed one. That's why I decided to take it upon myself (mostly for laughs and some "armor that looks like clothes" design practice) and give the beloved trio of hunters some Summer Variants...although without them having to put off their armor and helmets since I guess the dev team has no idea how should they all look like without these...

But that let us stray from the usual swimsuit affair, isn't it?

Actually, the first character who ever got a summer-themed design was Zero, I just haven't completed the character sheet digitally yet. I really wanted Axl to kickstart this, errr... series of summer redesigns?

Axl is the most "summer-vacation-at-the-beach" themed out of all three. As you can see, he's suppose to be a surfer weilding a watergun (which is actually pretty big, I just forgot to specify it on the sheet. It's two times the size of one Axl Bullet but he can hold it in one hand like Plasma Gun despite it). Only his beach shorts are not made of metal. It's more of a cloth material than, well, metal. Also he's suppose to look like he's wearing sandals here but I made them grey since yellow and other colors look a bit off. I also put a poppy lei on his neck... Some will know why I use these flowers so much while drawing him, but in short, I put them here for a contrast and because they are... red. Other colors didn't look particularly good and I didn't want to add even more colors to him in order to not cause the overload.

His chest armor is suppose to look like a shirt with short sleeves and, yeah, he does not have his chest gem. If he didn't have it in his White Day variant, then I can remove it for this Axl as well.

Also, fun fact: I originally wasn't sure if I wanted his "shirt" to be closed or not, but since I had troubles with imagining how would his body look like behind the armor as well... yeah, I went for the safer version. Probably for the better.

I thought of his battle skills as well, just for the heck of it:
*Surfboard Shield - Axl will put his surfboard in front of him to block enemy's fire for some time. You can move while it's active to protect yourself from other sides. While Surfboard Shield is active, Torrent Splasher will be replaced with Tsunami Rush;

*Torrent Splasher - Axl will shoot a powerful water torrent to soak his opponent. Inflicts Slow status effect and has a small chance to inflict Defocus on top of that. This skill can be used twice before the cooldown. If Surfer Axl has his 3* active skill unlocked, he'll shoot two Tobiuo Missles (the flying fish) that will follow the enemy until they hit them or other enemy;

**Tsunami Rush - Can only be used while Surfboard Shield is active, replacing Torrent Splasher. Axl will get on the surfboard to ride a big wave in order to hit enemies. He will also be invincible during it, receiving a 3-second shield around him as a bonus while Torrent Splasher is cooling down (The Shield always takes longer to recharge). The enemy will get inflicted with Slow 2 and will have a moderate chance to get Defocus debuff as well; Tsunami Rush takes 25 seconds to fully recharge, even if Surfboard Shield has already cooled down.

I know it will be selfish, but I actually would love to see this design of Axl get illustrated by other fans who would love to see something like that done officially... or by those who think the general idea of a Surfer Axl being cool or cute. I'll try to illustrate X next! I wanna keep Zero for the grand finale since the general idea behind his design is absolutely rad, trust me
