Hillo, guys!

Decided to post this as well. That was the first draft of Axl's Zero-series appearance that I did so I... actually got some things wrong about the anatomy that I gladly fixed in the Halloween art .

Before you ask, he was originally intended to have his cloak, I just didn't have him wear it in this draft (because he actually can walk around without it. Axl just puts it on when he's on the mission occasionally).

So, I might put a rough draft of the beginning of that store there so you could actually say if concept would work.

Basically, after whatever Lumine did to him in X9 (we don't know, but I decided to leave a hint on his face), Axl had to be put in stasis until the vaccine against what was left of Lumine could be produced. That case seemed to be different from a simple infection with a virus so he had to wait for a long time until eventually a system was developed that could wipe all of the traces of Lumine from his mind but then Axl would forget everything he knew after he woke up from his coma in X9. The process of full recovery was said to last for 30 years... but the last could of them happened during the Elf Wars and after that he got forgotten (there would be a more logical explaination behind that, I just don't want to make this description too long)

One day, more than a 100 years since he was put in the laboratory (that was slowly sinking in the sand as the time went on), Axl finally wakes up because of an emergency switch that worked as the machinery at the place started to break down. He didn't know what even happened and why he was alone, so he just walked around the lab for a while, got the clothes and a weapon that was left for him aside his pistols, Red's Scythe, and then started to dig out. Once he did, Axl discovered that the whole world was now just a giant wasteland but he didn't want to give up there, even if he could've been the last being remaning in this world... and so, he started traveling around the world to find someone else.

That ends up happening eventually. He bumps into one of the old repliroids that were not taken to the NA (Mostly because they might've ended up in a similar situation to Axl. They were just asleep for too long and no one came to get em'). That man will be chased around by some old Golem that thought he might be dangerous. Axl will have to destroy the Golem and eventually do his first kill with a scythe, mirroring Zero's opening in a way (and also starting his journey as the grim reaper in a way). Repliroid was beyond saving, however, so he only tells Axl about a special place he had heard of some time ago - Neo Arcadia - Heaven on Earth for all Repliroids and Humans. He wanted to head there but got hunted by a mechaniloid so now he asks Axl to carry on his death wish and see what the place is for himself. And thus, ginger repliroid sents on another journey, full of hope... until that said hope will eventually get crushed by the reality as he'll arrive here just after the end of Z1.

That's all I can tell you right now in order to not make this description too long. It's just a set up for this whole idea. It was already developed further, but it needs polishing.

Axl also will have a Cyber-Elf friend that he'll try to help with finding a different purpose in his life aside from sacrificing himself to help repliroids. He would be a Nurse-type like this (as an opposite to who Axl is right now - the grim reaper) and he'll grow over the time. I imagine that little guy always suggesting him 'his survice' and Axl denying it each time because he doesn't want this stubborn elf to die XD
