Description
During the Second Psychic War, a young woman named Chessain was romantically involved with a psychic called 77, who had saved her life during a fire on board an orbiting refueling station. She'd been sealed into a compartment as it prepared to purge atmosphere to extinguish the fire, and 77 teleported her out just before the vents opened. Soon after this, the two began their relationship, which came to a pause a year later with 77 being requested on the front lines of the war. Chessain realized soon thereafter that she was pregnant, and was informed that she was in fact carrying twins.

77 was happy to hear that Chessain was pregnant, and told her that he would return to her as soon as he could. Unfortunately, he was fighting at 21's side, a massively powerful psychic and commander of the Cave Grove Rebellion's Psychic Forces. 21 needed him to stay, as they were preparing for a push into Imperial territory, and he was inclined to comply. His communication back to Chessain however, was intercepted by Imperial spies, who relayed the information to Imperial command. They immediately dispatched a team of Imperial Executors to capture or kill Chessain, as they thought that this would throw 77 into a frenzy, causing him to abandon 21 and his forces.

Chessain however, was far from helpless. Whenever a psychic interacts with someone, there is a significant chance that they will be influenced by the encounter. The more intimate and prolonged the encounter, the stronger the influence. For Chessain, spending a year being courted by an elite-level psychic and then impregnated by him was enough to dramatically effect her mental abilities. She found that when stressed, or when she concentrated, she was able to manipulate objects at a distance, tell what peoples intentions were, and even influence them herself. With a bit more concentration, she was able to levetate, pushing against the floor or ground with her mind. 77 encouraged her to exercise and practice often, and she became stronger with every passing day. While she wasn't nearly "weapons-grade", by the time 77 headed off to the front, Chessain was more than capable of taking care of herself. The half-dozen assassins sent to do her in found that out the hard way.

I honestly planned on finishing this story tonight, but it's 2:30 am, and my brain is all like "shhh, the internet can wait, sleep now." I'll finish it later or post another picture of her doing something other than floating and looking cute.
