Description A very human centauress, drawn while playing Worms Armageddon, and being tormented by multiple turtles.
I've always liked centaurs, but I've never been a fan of horses. They smell, they stomp and kick, and they have relatively small brains for their size. I know this isn't the normal kind of centaur, but then again, when have I been normal?

Besides, I think my Khnierons are much sexier.

Thanks! Mine are a species all of their own, but I do have a Frankenstein-type mad scientist character who might be interested in your ideas

Yeah, in my universe they're their own species, the Khnieron.

Further thought: given the the two pairs of legs are so close together, they are more likely to canter rather than trot.

Hmm ... yes. Your Khnierons have inspired me. I'm not sure if it is valid in midden to have variations in the number of legs of those of Khnieron stock; but wouldn't their military parades have caissons or floats that need to be drawn about? Anyway, here's a concept sketch you've inspired of a genetically modified Khnieron recruit being adapted for such work:

JazzLizard In reply to therianthropologist [2006-09-28 04:33:56 +0000 UTC]

Lol, albeit a nice sketch, Midden frowns upon genetic modification, and the use of sentients for labor such as that. Also, she would be hard pressed to find work elsewhere, or transportation. I like to think of feasability as well, she would have to eat massive amounts of food to provide nutrients and energy for those legs.

Oh, dear. Oh, well.

Btw, are all Khneirons female? The fellow I drew was intended to be male and a volunteer. His motivation for growing all the extra legs was to impress the ladies (in the parades and elsewhere). As you know, when it comes to feasibility in relationship to females, in a boy's mind, females obviously come first.

But I shall defer to your superior expertise in this subject matter, of course!

Hmm ... your picture has rung a couple of reference-bells in my head.

The first is a little wierd: A Baron Munchausen story about a land with people with three legs (side-by-side-by-side on one widened pelvis) and one arm (left, I think) on a shoulder in the normal position.

The second is a one-pager from a later Oz book. I haven't got a picture of him; but he was named Tommy or Johnny Qwikstep. The fellow had two arms and and a very large number of pairs of legs growing from a series of pelvises out behind the first.

Khnierons, sexy?

Well, yes, I quite agree!

Have you uploaded that skeletal and muscular overlay yet?
How many lungs and how many stomachs are these supposed to have?

(The concept of lungs, then stomach, then lungs again is something I have trouble with.)

JazzLizard In reply to ttnn [2006-09-13 00:14:16 +0000 UTC]

Lol, they have two lungs and one stomach, I'm not into "fantasy anatomy".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ttnn In reply to JazzLizard [2006-09-13 21:00:00 +0000 UTC]

A stomach has one inlet and one outlet, so you can, in principle, connect two in series. On the planet of this webserver there exist, in fact, species that have that arrangement. But lungs can't be connected like that because the outlet is the same as the inlet (so they'd have to be connected "in parallel", as electricians like to say).

Not into fantasy anatomy!? You sure fooled me!

Incidentally, I love your takoyaki gal; love your sense of humor!

I like feasable anatomy, and put great thought into weather or not my creatures could actually live. I try to get them to be as realistic while still ataining a certain amount of fantasy and sexiness.

Nice work. I would lengthen the body so the back most legs dont overlapp with the fore most legs, and maybe add a little more muscle defination in those legs.

Thanks, but I like the way the legs overlap, I like compact anthros like this.
I'll probably add more visible muscles and such when I get around to colorizing this, tho.

helped me to learn kitsune and cat, but i just can''t seem to do horses

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JazzLizard In reply to Ezekel [2006-05-03 12:43:01 +0000 UTC]

Well, what you need to do is not just study one animal, or one anime character. I've seen too many artists and all they can draw is a single character in the same pose over and over again. You need to study the actualy structure and anatomy of the actual animal, and once you've learned the basics of that, you'll be able to manipulate it and use it's structural setup to draw tons of other animals. The same skeleton I used here can be stretched and manipulated into many other figures, from acquatic animals to birds!
