Midden operates a massive space and air navy, capable of laying seige to nearly any planet and fortification. But when important ground-based infastructure is needed intact, Midden cannot simply rely on it's orbital bombardment of the planet to secure it. Ground deployed troop battalions are backed and reinforced by heavy artillery support provided by such mobile fortresses as the Oblideron class Landship. A vessel deployed from the much larger Olderin class Dropship, the Oblideron is capable of 120 kph, (70 mph), an is a sight to behold as it stoms across the battlefield, guns blazing. It is outfitted with thirteen main turrets, each holding three 48 inch spacial bombardment rifles, and is also armed with ninteen twenty four inch guns. Primarilly used against heavilly fortifired or high-resistance military targets, only one Oblideron class cruiser was ever lost, and this was due to a miscalculation in the targeting mainfraim of an orbital dreadnought, which proceeded to shell the ship, which it mistook to be an enemy stronghold.

Looks like it would instantly bog down in anything softer than smooth, bare granite.  And why guns?  Surely an interstellar civilization would have developed the hypersonic continuous-boost missile, based on whatever drive they use in their ships.

Lol, but airplanes can't fly...ON THE GROUND! I know a good air-force would wipe a contingent of land-battleships out, but that's none of my concern

just to go with all the contradictions here, does it come with a hot refrigerator and a quiet radio?

Um, this isn't a flimsy "our world" kind of battleship, keep that in mind.
It's not made out of steel.

Neat.
The only land boat I've seen was a boat that gave tours around town.

Yeah, duck boats!
Those are relics from WW2, the only thing they have like them now are amphibious LAVs [link] or hovercrafts.

hahaha love the concept. Its really fun and origional. shoot you could spawn an entire comic or cartoon series based around land ships of this sort. something like 70% of the oceans dried up so all ships were retrofitted with wheels or something like that. Nice work indeed.

haha, i'd have to finish my ship art before hand. Even though, I'd rather just draw instead of battle.
