No, they are based on Franz Joseph book Star Trek technical manual.
The first 2 are from the pilot and session 1,2,and 3.
The last one is from the film's, the rest are the supposed class refit between them.

When you look at real life US Navy post world war two development until the Reagen era you can see some a slow evolution and I find that very realistic compared to a sudden change in ship design like TOS to the movies (they did get the refit right from the perspective that a long lived ship could look radically different over a ships long life ex USS Midway.) I feel that is what you captured here.
Β On another rambling note I recently read the Soyuz class from TNG's Cause and Effect should of been a new model but time and budget didn't allow for that but i was thinking the Zeus class you drew from early phase II art would of been a wonderful option. There is kind of a push right now in some fan art and STO and even star wars rebels to use unused conceptual art from the 70's through the 90's and I love it!

I know what you mean, I am currently working on making some ambassador type ships that make the flow from excelsior to ambassador, ambassador to galaxy classes a bit more easier to swallow.
As for the Soyuz class, they should have just used a Miranda class ship instead, for the trouble it caused. Or even the Sydney class.... Also the pegasus (Rulers old ship with to cloaking device) was to be a new build ship to, but instead we got an old oberth class that was to be seen as cutting edge technology. Think they should have used an nebula class, because I was supposed to have tech that was to be on a galaxy class ship. Just would have fitted a lot better as they look similar.
