oh, okay. I was surprised that Prismacolours are okay on shoes, 'cuz I'm making some chucks at this moment (yep, I'm writing with only one hand, so harmful! ) You are so talented that you should make every pair I want... and it should be for free! I am simple impressed handmade shoes FTW!

Hey there! I've made a couple of customized shoes myself and I've been battling with finding a good fixative. Right now I'm using Fabric Mod Podge. It works really well for protecting the artwork once its dried, but it can kind of blur the colors since you have to paint it on. I've been looking for a good spray-on fixative that works. How strong is the fixative that you use? In other words, would it be ideal if I'm selling my shoes to teens who *might* not take great care of them?

Jboogieman In reply to Some-Imagination [2010-07-28 02:17:24 +0000 UTC]

haha I sell mine to people and they destroy them! but thats the shoes quality issue and not my art um I haven't tried, but i would think it is a good idea is spray acrylic fixative and do a couple of coats to give it a layer of good solid protection

Wow that's amazing stuff man. I'm gonna use this tutorial for sure! I'm gonna try out on some cheap wally-world shoes first and if I like it/get good enough I might move up to the vans/chucks and do some shoes for some of my friends

walmart shoes dont work that well just fyi your better off to try on some vans they quality of the material makes your drawings more detailed and its easier to blend. I want to see what you do!

Thats a good stuff ^_^ Though I prefer paint rather then do that with the markers You cant wash paint away so that's the benefit ^_^

I actually never found anyone else who uses markers on their shoes beside me(Thou I am sure there are more people out there that do lols, I use copics). You answered a good question for me. I have been trying to find something that some what seals teh shoe to prevent bleeding and fading and some what waterproof. Thank you so much.

Really nice tutorial! So you do all of your work with those markers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jboogieman In reply to chevron3 [2010-04-09 01:52:27 +0000 UTC]

Mostly all my work. I may use some paint since markers can't do some things paint does.

helps a lot, ive been drawing on these same shoes for about a year now but i use different kind of pens that i cant find anywhere anymore...where do you buy those pens you use?....and where do you get that water and stain spray?

Jboogieman In reply to BakerZero417 [2010-02-05 21:29:25 +0000 UTC]

i got the spray from the vans shoe store where i get the shoes. and I buy the markers wherever i can find them. Like my local art store or you can order them online on their website.
