Description
Here is a tutorial showing the process of shoe painting that I use.I hope you like it and find it useful! n_n
The final shoe: [link]
Notes:
1. You don't have to paint white shoes, you can just give any colour shoes a few coats of white paint as a base before doing the rest.
2. You don't have to use acrylic - fabric paint or permanent markers should work as well, this is just one method.
3. "I have a pair of high top chucks I did in Prismacolor markers. I found markers work well, then spray lightly over the top with hair-spray and it protects it. Again, can't get them wet though." From ~Girl-Of-Roses-Hanna
Edit:
OMG!! A DD? Wow, I'm honored.
Thank you very much for featuring it.

I love painting and making handcrafts. After graduation, I set up this Studio, dedicating in designing and making hand painted canvas shoes.

Awesome shoe designs! I just launched Sneax (www.sneax.be) which is a brand new online platform for customizing sneakers.
There's also a contest in which people can upload their custom designs, i was hoping you were interested in uploading one of yours? You could win a €100 gift voucher!
If you're ok with it I could also feature some of your work in the news section, just let me know!
You can upload at [link] or email me at info@sneax.be
Take care!

I'm starting my first shoe project after my last exam and this tutorial will be super helpful! ^_^
... tho I wonder if oil paint would work? I normally paint in oils and it's water proof so I wouldn't have to worry as much, but I don't know if the paint will chip

I got a little question.... can you also use colourpencils instead of paint of markers ????
Thanks for the tutorial, though and I love your avatar

I was wondering if it was difficult and what to use, because I would like to give it a try... with that, all my problems are resolved
You're tutorial is very clear and simple! Now, I think I'm more confident to give it a try!
Unfortunately, where I live, I can't find Lukas acrylic paint nowhere... I guess I could find something with almost the same abilities of this paint

Well I prefer canvas because it's not slippery. You can try to experiment with leather but I can't guarantee results because I haven't tried it n_n

What will happen if they get wet? Just wondering....I would like to try and paint a pair of shoes but I want to know if it would be bad to wear them out in the rain and stuff.

The ones pictured I actually got wet and nothing happened, the paint didn't bleed or peel. But the shoes got muddy and dirty. So a little water won't hurt, acrylic dries waterproof as far as I know n_n

I just used what the store assistant suggested would be best, some shoe artists swear by wood lacquer!
