yeah, a really scrappy sketch I did on Manga Studio. But I wanted to show you folks how much my style has uh...changed? Well, not completely, I still draw anime, but I'm finally getting the hang of drawing a semi-realistic style.
I'm quite happy with Dick here...his hair hates me though...Tis Dick Grayson (Nightwing) with the long hair and Jason Todd (Red Hood/Red Robin) with the frown at the breakfast table. Yeah, what table? I'm mostly practicing realism and at the same time, was inspired by Stalinglim's alternate fanfic M&M verse which features a dysfunctional but still loving Batman family.
Does Dick look older than Jason? He's supposed to be.
(Dick's 26 at the least, while Jason's 20 at the least. ) I tried drawing Dick as the most handsome one, since he's always drawn as gorgeous looking. Jason...sadly not so much. But that's okay, he's a punk/thug. Actually he's more of a trickster type character, if you ask me. Reminds me of Puck from Gargoyles cartoon (anyone remember that one?) when he's not angry or brooding. *shakes fist at Countdown writers* At other times, reminds me of Kyo from Fruits Basket. Heh, one of these days I shall do a parody cosplay pic placing all the bat family in FB roles. XD
Anyhoo, sadly I'm in a terrible artist block. I can't get out of this rut. I'm on auto pilot, I can only do quick sketches and usually the realistic style that I've been trying to work on for the past half year...Don't know when I'll get back to finishing my old works.
In the meantime, here ya go! Semi-realism Batman sidekicks.

So awesome, it's hard to combine the clean-ness of anime and manga to realism but you did it well, also how do you color your other pieces, it's so clean!

I love the way you drew Dick, and Jason as well. I love how you made him younger-looking (as opposed to in the comics, where he looks like he's about forty :C). Gosh, now I want a Three's Company-type comic where Jason and Dick are roomies . . .

Dick does look older; I think his hair compared to Jason's helps. He kind of has a bit of a Takeshi Kaneshiro vibe going on.
