...another day. All the world is waiting for the sun...Woot! I finally finished it! Took long enough alright. X3 (like oh, several months...) Mostly cuz I couldn't decide on the coloring for clothes or the theme. But thanks to Summoner Lenne's tip, I finish coloring it.
Here's how it looked when I got stuck and wanted to submit it already Cool Version
YES! Tis Kazekage Gaara and Chunin Hinata, But don't hang me just yet! Humor me for the moment. Tell me they would not make interesting friends? Ever since I read the ShikaIno fanfic, Worth the Trouble by Prime Minister. I fancied these two if not as a couple than as a good pair of friends. Mostly cuz Gaara respects Naruto and in turn would respect Hinata who admires Naruto the most. AM I making sense here?
Anyone read that fanfic? I just giggled in delight when in chapter "In the Fray", Gaara threatened Shikamaru to let go of "Naruto's Woman." Shika's like, "I'm HER FRIEND, I'm protecting her (from you)." ANd Gaara's like, "Bah," *Sand coming to life* Until Hinata finally speaks up and is like, "No, no! It's true! He's my friend!" and Gaara chills out and checks on HInata to make sure she wasn't hurt in the last battle while mumbling, "I won't let anyone hurt Naruto's friends." And then when Hinata pats his hand saying she's okay, he gives a small smile. *squee!*
kk, that's an old fanfic, actually, (really good one) but still it planted a seed in my head so when I came across a Gaahina fanfic, woot! it flourished into this. Yay for crackpairings!

The title is from the song "Rain" by Breaking Benjamin. Very pretty soft song, didn't know it was them when I heard it. Thought it fit this pair.

EDIT: I had to lighten it since photoshop is doing that weird thing again where it doesn't show me how super dark the pic actually is. The thumbnail makes this look really light, but the full view shows the colors the way I want them to look. (still a bit bolder than what I envisioned, but much better than it was before where the colors just BLED)
I think this pic had the most layers ever of all the pics I've colored. The last deviation I did taught me a lot about different coloring techniques on photoshop so I used them here with some color (instead of lighting). I'm not satisfied with the misty look it has. Mostly because I had to sacrifice one or two things in it and tried compromising but in the end, I'm not to sure I like her hair. LOL, the color looked better before i did the luminosity technique.

It's so pretty...Ah...GaaHina shipper I am. I went back and forth between this pairing, but now that Gaara is "better" I see more potential for them. For me, I like GaaHina, I dislike badly written GaaHina.

This picture is very pretty, I like the warmer tones a lot. The cooler picture was just very... well, very cold, for lack of a better word. You make Gaara look even prettier than he already does.

Rain pics are hard to do because there's so much moisture you need to portray.
Right now, only the background is drizzly - there should be at least a few symbolic raindrops falling on your people, a few splash offfs, water running down their faces, clothes clinging in awkward areas, etc.
Still, awesome picture - it wants to make me find out more about what's going on. (And, because I'm mean, laugh at the Rain Emo.

Yup, those gaps, I had a hard time making them after I got carried away with the lines.
Ya know what, looking at it today, I've decided they're not in the rain. They're behind a WATERFALL! oooh! Yeah, yeah, Anime Hinata(TM) was doing her shojo-y dance/training(TM) by the waterfall and Gaara was spying from behind it and tripped like Anime Naruto(TM) but knocked himself out instead. Thus how Hinata finds him unconcious and cries over him cuz she's a spaz like that.

ah don't worry about that, tis not raining on them. That would've changed the lighting and coloring on them completely. It would've been more dreary looking. (JB wanted them to glow!) This way they're just apart from the rain. (was thinking of adding vegetation in the corner above her head to show they're under some trees) but that would've changed the color scheme too much and a cave-like opening would've made this picture bigger.
The biggest problem for me with the rain was getting it to look like rain. LOL, Right now it looks more like running waterfall/water curtain than rain.
oh! you can make up your own story! He tripped and hit his head and now HInata's having a panic attack and trying to wake him up before Shakaku wakes up.
