Description
"...And I've been a square kid."Another MST3K commission, this one for . And, as you may have noticed, it pays tribute to one of the series' most popular and well-known episodes, 910 "The Final Sacrifice". For the select few of you who haven't seen this one - fresh out of the tax shelter known as Canada, it's the story of a wiry geek named Troy trying to find out what happened to his dead father (it seems obvious to me: the guy died). He gets mixed up with a vague cult led by a deep voiced guy named Satoris (or, as Mike bills him, "Canadian villain Garth Vader"), and teams up with the denim-covered, hockey-headed, beer-swilling "hero" Zap Rowsdower. Though I couldn't fit him in here, the true highlight of the film is Mike Pipper, a Red Green-lookalike hermit with a voice that's a cross between Tom Waits and Yosemite Sam.
This piece also marks the debut of my new, properly-sized Mike shadowrama. It's a little inaccurate, since I used episode 706 "Laserblast" as a reference for it, so Crow is angled the way Trace Beaulieu held him rather than how Bill Corbett did, but for all intents and purposes, I think it works fine.

HI, EVERYBODY! I've just submitted my first real artwork (that isn't made with a 'Dollz' thingy). It's a blend of sharpie marker & Paint.NET (however, I realized that the old-fashioned way is best for me. My way with Digital-whatever stinks. Future works will be with Trad mediums like pencils & marker). It's a start. Waddayathink?

Rowsdower saves us and saves all the world!
Great picture for a great episode. I honestly didn't think searching "Satoris" would have any results on deviantArt.

THINGS TROY MACGREGGOR REMINDS ME OF: Gilligan, Burt Ward as Robin off-duty, A very young Jerry Lewis, A Ferengi, A ferret, Alfred E. Newman, A chuahuha.
THINGS ZAP ROWSDOWER REMINDS ME OF: A redneck, a trucker, a barrel, a redneck lady in drag but keeping her regular hairstyle, Mitchell's somewhat less-repulsive brother, a bear, a Country singer. A reject from Lynard Skynnard or the Oakridge Boys (golly, the man's from way up in the 'Great White NORTH' yet I'm comparing him to Southern U.S. hick types) and of couse A bratwurst with hair!!!
WHAT PIPPER REMINDS ME OF: Yosemite Sam, nuff said.
WHAT SATORIS REMINDS ME OF: A Nazi SS Officer/Stormtrooper, A vampire, a tad bit of Richard Kiel, A Cossack, A Soviet Military Officer, (IN PROLOGUE) Ray Davies, Ivan ('Safety Dance' guy, only less cute), a grown up Damien with long hair, a gothy guy, etc. In all forms, there's a BDSM/Nazi/Cossack/Soviet-thing vibe...and of course a Z-Grade Darth Vader...or...GARTH VADER!

jbwarner86, do you do "commissions" or "requests"? I discribed an idea I had on these responses. I'd love to see a silly recreation of the Prologue. Long-haired Satoris, looking sinister, "Larry Csonkas" getting chased by the "Wizard of Id" gang, masked Rowsdower fumblin' with the gun & mask....it would be a scream. Please, pretty please...with sugar on top? Thank you, hon!

Unfortunately, my commissions are currently closed, and I don't do free requests at all. But I'll be moving to a blog next month, and I'll be reopening my commissions there after a while, so be sure to keep an eye on my journal for the link!

Okie Dokie! Heck, I'll even create my own stuff (once I get a scanner...I'm better at old-fashioned media anyway. I stink at computer art...unless it's web dollz, which are partially pre-fabbed anyway. I need to be original).

My first and my favorite MST3K. I saw it like, waaaay back, when it was still on Sci-Fi, well, not when it was still showing new episodes, the series had long been over, but reruns played in the morning, and my favorite show was discovered. How could I not fall in love with MST3K when my first episode had SO MANY classic one liners?
"7 years later..."
"Can I discipline you?"
"ROWSDOWER!"
"I'm having a series of elaborate heart attacks!"
"ROWSDOWER MOBILE, AWAY!"
"Ahh, that was a good 7 years..."
"I wonder if there's beer on the sun?"
"FEWD!"
"Look into yer heart! eh?"
"MORE FEWD!"
"What da HELL 'r yew doin' er?!"
"We where eating yer FEWD!"
"By the way, I hates that rabbit."
"We're gonna make you drink something other then BEER!"
"Aw, shoot, I'm in Canada..."

Man! I loved tat episode. I always thought Satoris looked cooler with the long hair, though (in the flashback-prologue). Too bad he didn't keep it. It would've been cool! It made him look strangely kinda..."hot" in a pecular "Ray Davies meets Damien the 'Omen' kid" kinda way, weird. Anybody feel this way?

.....By the way, jbwarner86, could you the recreation of the opening....with Satoris in all his long-haired glory & sinister smirk while Rowsdower is comically futzing with his red mask while jugging the gun (illuminated by campfire, with 'Larry Csonkas' being chased by Satoris' 'Mexican Wrestlers' in the background)? That would be cool! Satoris had sort of a "John Taylor circa mid 1980's" hair (or a 'mullet with class', all-black, of course) with the bangs parted to the side & looked like a young Ray Davies (John Taylor was the cute bass guitarist from the 80's Duran Duran. Ray Davies was the lead singer of the 60's band, The Kinks...Servo made a 'Ray Davies' remark during the opening scene)it would be great to see. The caption can read: "MMMMFFFHH! I'M MISSIN' A MOUTH HOLE!" accompanied by "Hi, Cindy"!

.....and "Larry Csonkas" can say..."It's 'CSONKAS', you black-clad idiot! Not 'CINDY'" while a masked goon says "YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE EL SANTOS!!! OLE!!!" Rowsdower then says "...at least my back-hair keeps me warm...."

Servo said something in "Space Mutiny" to the effect of "C'mon, Mike, this movie's rife with the stench of back bacon!" Doing some research, it turns out he's wrong - Space Mutiny was filmed in South Africa (making it only the second worst thing to happen in that part of the world).
