Description
And finally, part four. As you can tell by the release dates, the last two costumes are not part of the BarbozaToons' original "golden age" run. "Bad Case of Loving You" is a cartoon produced by Gryphon Pictures' Classic Animation Preservation department in the late 1980s (a parallel to the shorts Greg Ford and Terry Lennon did for Warner Bros. during the same time period), and given its time of production, it's slightly more contemporary - given the hospital setting, there are a good number of "St. Elsewhere" jokes."The BarbozaToons Movie", on the other hand, is the "Space Jam"-like culmination of the heavy bastardization period that befell the BarbozaToons in the 1990s. It involves the BarbozaToon characters getting sucked into the real world via a multidimensional portal, and while they struggle to cope with their new realistic surroundings, they team up with two high school students to debunk the sinister plot being cooked up by an evil chemical corporation who wants to demolish the local skate park. Being released in 1995, its plot contains about a million extreme sports references, and the outfit pictured above is what Maxine wears during a scene involving the main characters' attempts to win an X-Games-like competition, with the BarbozaToons comprising their team. And the movie also contains a heavy dose of shameless product placement on top of its lackluster humor and needless "hipping up" of the characters - note Maxine's Adidas brand skate gear and her bottle of Mountain Dew.

I like how you came up with different "histories" for each design. Was the outfit on the left by any chance inspired by Ulala from Space Channel 5? That's what it reminds me of.

Very good work pal, I don't think the whole idea of the 90's was wrecking well known old cartoons by having them enforce product placement and having them be the "Toons of the 90's" I think it was to give the audience a look at their favorite toons adapting to the changing times. I also notice Maxine isn't wearing shoes in "Bad Case of Loving You" I wonder why?

This is very cool, I love all of your concepts. Maxine's "Buck Gunter and the Invasion of the Moon Mutts" outfit reminds me of the movie Flash Gordon for some reason... Good job on this, everything is very well thought out ^^

XD When I saw the one of her in the sports gear, and I saw 1995 underneath it, I new she was bastardized
Awesome how you can create such a convincing timeline of your characters!
(Yup, still going through your gallery!)

I've looked at all your Maxine outfits and I have to say ....
Maxine Mink > Minerva Mink (the latter appeared in only one cartoon, anyway)

Actually, Minerva had four "Animaniacs" appearances - she only starred in "Meet Minerva" and "Moon Over Minerva", but she had a supporting role in "Hercule Yakko" and was one of many dancers in "Dot the Macadamia Nut".

I love this whole series. The satire is great. Everything is spoofed right down to the years it came out. Great job.

Egad! Product placements in cartoons. It's only a matter of time before that actually happens....
Yes, Fifi has to stop right in the middle of chasing Furrball to grab a Mello Yello.... Oy!

Yikes! That's some hot satire right there!
I am quite surprised - but also somewhat impressed - that you would go so far as to parody so many details of the Warner Bros history.
But then, you've made your views and relationship with them very clear in the past.

Yeouch, the venom is almost platable in that last paragraph. Then again, it's amazing how much we as fans hold possesion of our favorite childhood icons (I don't think such ire is always unwarrented either). For some reason though the skateboard makes me think back to the 80's rather than the 90's. I blame 80's cartoons for that... and Back to the Future.
As a comment on a whole for the series (sorry I hadn't commented on them individually) I can certainly see a bit of personality in each one and the references are quite clear giving every one their own understood context. The two nit-picks I would have would be a little more variety in the poses, since many of them look a bit too similar. As well, I would have recommended playing with the hair and eye-shadow a little bit more. 'haraoh Phooey' is a great example for still maintaining the same idea (covering the eye and still showing off in the back) and I think could have been played with across a few more models. The eye-shadows while perhaps charactoristically dark for the character, might have benefited with some variety as well (perhaps a touch of glitter on aqua with 'Ali Baba Bungle'
An additional bravo for the 'Maltese Mink's' use of black and white for a better representation of the inspired filming. Perhaps not even remotely related, but I thought back to Family Guy episode 'The Griffin Family History' for it's short stint of silent films (and a great spoof of 'takes' and instramentation).

Few! You can smell the product placement in the air! Oh, and thanks for the "Duck Dodgers" allusion for the first costume,it's one of my favorite WB originals ( but not the Cartoon Network one).
