So it looks like [including journal entries I believe] this will be my 600th upload here on DeviantArt! Talk about crazy right?! Wanna know what else is crazy? I haven't drawn Mario some artwork of his own for quite some time (but I definitely have been drawing him; just so happens to be alongside Airashi more often than not). Seeing as my first ever artwork I uploaded onto the Internet was of the Big N's flagship mascot, why not make a new piece featuring him, just as a show of how far I've come since all those years ago! More astute Mario fans may find the pose rather familiar; that's because I based it upon official artwork for Mario from Super Mario 64 DS. It happens to be one of my favorite official works of Mario, and while lately Nintendo's been remaking old renders of certain Mario characters from the 2000's, something tells me that the artwork I mentioned won't be getting the same treatment. So I went ahead and redrew the pose myself! I think it looks really fantastic, so I certainly hope y'all feel the same way about it! I know I wound up barely drawing anything for July, but I feel like summer vacation is when it gets the most quiet around here. Hopefully this gets more traction as we're in the early part of August.
