I’d say the reason why Olan’s fighting style relies so heavily on using his tentacles and manipulating minds is because he needs to keep his enemies from hitting him do to his weak endurance, ironically making him a contrast to Radapha who is more of an up close brawler.
My theory came from the fact that he was forced to retreat after Radapha impaled him only once, he probably has the scars to prove it as well.
