great image, did you turn the contrast down on it? if you did i kind of wish you hadnt, or maybe if you had exposed a lil less to get some more vibrancy in the colour. Also how do you like the d80? I have the d70s and am thinking of getting the d80 to be my new primary camera and use the d70s for carrying secondary lenses (since switching lenses all the time is a hastly)

Sorry to be so late. Was just flooded with messages again.
The shot was heavily underexposed, even more heavily than I normally do with sunsets. So I had to brighten it a bit with Photoshop.
I must say that I am very happy with the D 80. It is my first digital SLR, so I cannot compare.
Yes, I hate switching lenses. Which is why I bought that very expensive Nikkor 18-200 lense which I find very good, too. But there are certain limits, no real Makro, no real wide angle. So I might buy another one, if I find the money.
I hope you shall be happy with your choice. All the best,
Juergen

the 18-200 vr? i heard it focuses at 1 ft! pretty impressive for a 200mm. I didn't want to have to get on a waiting list to get that lens, or pay that much so I got the much 55-200 vr with which I am in love.

Yes, there was indeed some problem getting the lense. My local dealer did not have it, said it would take about two or three month. But I found a shop via the Internet which had it immediately. But it was pricy ....
Yes, it focuses at about 1 ft, but I find that clumpsy for makro. Still, it is a wonderful lense when being out and about, as there is no need to carry any other one or a big extra bag around.

yeah I carry four lenses around. 50mm 1.8, 19-35 3.5-5.6, 55-200 vr, and a lensbaby, plus a sb-600 flash. its a bitch. Nikon does have a nice backpack that will carry a dslr, lots of lenses and fits a 17 inch laptop. Perfect for this macbook pro 17inch im on. Ill have to get that..
