For how long shall we be able to take such a typical Dutch landscape shot with a beautiful herd of Frisians out in the open air? I just read again that there are fewer and fewer farmers who let them go out in the meadows. Just the old sort of family farmer who is dying out. In the future the cows will more or less all be placed in open stables! Isn't it a shame? Perhaps we should be willing to pay more for our milk!Taken near Westbroek/The Netherlands.

WOW, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, JURGEN. IS IT REALLY SUCH A PROBLEM THERE? HERE IN MISSISSIPPI, BIG HEARDS OF COWS ARE A COMMON SIGHT IN THE FIELDS AND MEADOWS ALONG THE ROADWAYS.

Gelukkig lopen er hier in de regio ook nog veel koeien buiten. Maar ook lama's kamelen, paarden en ezels!!

Dank je. Ja straks zijn er inderdaad allemaal alleen nog beesten buiten die niet gemolken moeten worden. Toch misschien valt het best mee.

Beautiful! And I agree. We treat livestock badly. We should insist that cows be allowed to roam in a sunny meadow.

I'm a strong advocate for animal rights. Animals do not exist just to serve our needs and I respect that and them. I'm mostly vegetarian although I eat fish, and sometimes chicken.
